It was an exciting moment at the Oyo State Police Command, Eleyele, Ibadan, last week Wednesday 13th May, 2020, as Aare Adetola EmmanuelKing Group Managing Director of Adron Homes and Properties and the Grand Patron, Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), South West, led other National officers of the PCRC to donate some palliative to the Command, to cushion the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic.
In his speech, the Adron Homes & Properties boss didn’t but commend efforts of the Oyo State government and the Police Command in the fight against Coronavirus, describing their intelligent approach as “strategic”.
The palliative gesture, according to Aare Adetola EmmanuelKing, was in recognition of the efforts of the Oyo State Police Command and also to encourage them as one of those in the fore front of the fight against Coronavirus. Saying that it is of note that as much as the people need the police, police also need their support. Having been fighting many “virus” before now; armed robbers, kidnappers, bandits herdsmen and now the COVID-19.
He therefore called on every member of the Oyo State PCRC to good ambassadors in the fight against coronavirus. He urged them to campaign about it wherever they are and also enlightened people on the things governerment said people should not do. Which include social distancing, regular washing of hands with soap and water, using of face mask and hand sanitizer and above all, to live a healthy lifestyle.
“In recognition of the continuous good work of the Oyo State Police Command, we hereby donate 100 cartons of Noddles, 200 bags of semovita, 1000 face masks and 500 bottles of hand sanitizer.”
The gesture, according to Aare Adetola EmmanuelKing who is the sole sponsor of the program and also doubles as the national Grand Patron PCRC, becomes necessary as Police officers are part of those in the forefront of the fight against COVID-19.
While responding to the benevolent act of Adron boss and PCRC South West, the Oyo State Commisoner of Police, Mr. Sina Olukolu said it is highly exciting to know that despite the persecutions police officers are facing while trying to discharge their duties, there are still group of people and individual who still believe in supporting the Nigeria Police Force to achieve the objective of securing the live and property of the populace.
“There is no doubt that Nigeria Police Force is on the frontline in collective efforts to combat the Coronavirus otherwise known as COVID-19. On behalf of the entire officers and men of the Nigeria Police, Oyo State Command, I sincerely thank the grand patron and the executives of PCRC, in encouraging the officers and their families in order for them not to become victims of Coronavirus,” Olukolu said.
The palliative distribution initiative which kicked off at the Ogun State Police Headquarters, Abeokuta, according to Aare EmmanuelKing and South West PCRC, would go round all the six Police Commands and two zonal headquarters in the South West.
In the entourage of the Adron boss were the likes of the Director, Corporate Affairs, Barr. Osude; Corporate Executive Secretary of Adron, Mr. Ayodeji Ojo Omoniyi; the Group Head, Legal, Mr. Deji Owolagba; Grand Ambassador of Adron Homes and popular actor, Mr. Saheed Balogun and several others.
While the National Vice Chairman of PCRC, Alhaji Mogaji Olaniyan led other prominent executives of the Committee to the presentation program. Other members in the house include the acting Chairman of Ogun State of PCRC, Dr. Samson Kunle Popoola; Oyo State PCRC Chairman, Rev. Peter Omofoye; Hon. Taiwo Aminlabi; Otunba Arowosola and others.
