CHERYL and Liam Payne’s fans have revealed their shock over the couple’s split – but many say they saw it coming.
Baby Bear parents released a joint statement and confirmed they have called time on their two-and-a-half year romance
Their legion of followers took to social media and consoled Cheryl, 35, and Liam, 24, after they vowed to co-parent their little boy.
One admirer wrote alongside a string of broken hearts: “Liam and Cheryl split Bear is still so young.”
A third said: “Kinda sucks to see Liam and Cheryl split. But I’m very excited what kind of music she will make. She’s a strong woman and she can definitely look after bear, make music, perform, and tour. Mothers are always the strongest. Wish you the best.”
Others praised them for how they announced the news with one saying: “The way Cheryl and Liam have handled their split really shows how mature and respectful they are. I’m happy that Bear has such good positive role models :).”
However, some fans said they predicted the break-up long ago, as one said: “It was so obvious Liam and Cheryl weren’t gonna last long though so I’m not surprised.”
He has now moved out of their 5 million masion in survey but they will continue to remain friends to co-parent their son.
A pal revealed: “Cheryl and Liam worked really hard on their relationship – they had troubles earlier this year and were able to get through them.
“But they’re in different stages of their lives and, after a lot of careful thought, came to a decision that it’s best for everyone if they do go their separate ways.
“He still cares for her and she cares for him. They still have an ongoing relationship together. They have a baby together.
“Both Cheryl and Liam have successful careers that take a lot of time, which didn’t always make things easy. There were ups and downs for a long time.”
They posted a message on social media that confirmed the news, that read: “We are sad to announce that we are going our separate ways. It’s been a tough decision for us to make.
“We still have so much love for each other as a family. Bear is our world and we ask that you respect his privacy as we navigate our way through this together.”
Meanwhile, sources close to the couple say the split is amicable and there is no third party involved.
A friend explained: “This was a mutual loving decision. There is no animosity – they made the call based on what’s best for their family.
“They get on great and this was a decision they made taking into account what’s right for their son.
“But they are adamant they will be the best possible parents to Bear by both being in his life.
