My name is Folasayo and I am a regular reader of your column. I am in a dilemma at the moment and I need your urgently need your help. I dated a guy named Dayo while I was in university back in 2010. We had a plan to get married after school, but it became evident that the wish was only mine. I got pregnant in my final year and he suggested that I abort it.
I kept the pregnancy against his wish as I fear for my life if I go through the abortion. He decided to break up with me and I had to raise the baby on my own. My boy is now 9 years old and he has never set his eyes on his father ever since his birth.
It happened that last Eid-il-Kabir in 2019, my parent called me and my siblings to have a reunion vacation at our family house in Magodo. I was also informed that my little sister is bringing home his fiancé for a brief introduction.
The date was set for August, and I got home a day before with my son.
While we were expecting the groom-to-be, I was called up by my mum and he advised that I also try and find a man so I won’t carry the burden of my fatherless son alone. She consoled me and cursed out on my run-away lover boy.
While I was listening to music in my room, my sister rushed in and screamed in joy “he’s around!.
I quickly jumped up to see the lucky guy who is taking my sister away. To my surprise, it was Dayo, my run-away lover, my baby’s father. I did not know if I should kill him or let him be? Should I tell my sister or keep quiet? Should I tell my parent? The introduction went well as he looked down in remorse as my parent though the look was a sign of humility and meekness? What do I do, now that a wedding day is in June?
My mother has coursed the guy never to have a happy home? What happens to my sister?
