Sex doesn’t always have to last a while to be exciting. If time is not on your side, but you and your partner are feeling in the mood for something frisky, a quickie is one of the best ways to get the edge off with a shot of adrenaline to get you through the rest of the day.
It’s not uncommon for a couple’s quickie attempts to turn into disastrous, not-to-be-mentioned again occasions, but when done right, these liaisons could make for some of your most memorable moments as a couple.
Here are the four ways to have a fulfilling quickie experience:
Sext, sext, sext
True to its name, a quickie is exactly that – something quick. This means that there probably won’t be time for foreplay, which is a great stimulant for arousal. If you know that during the day, you’ll only have a few minutes to get frisky with your partner, sexting throughout the morning is a great way to get the juices flowing – see this as online foreplay.
Part of the spontaneity and excitement of a quickie has to do with breaking the traditional rules of what sex is supposed to entail, and because it’s meant to be quick, all the normal admin is thrown out the window. This means that there’s no time to take your clothes off. It’s about the moment, the thrill, the pleasure and the adrenaline rush of feeling like you’re both little kids stealing peaches from a neighbour’s tree.
Oral sex can do the trick
A quickie doesn’t always have to involve intercourse and penetration. You can try something different by keeping the fun strictly oral. In a normal sex situation, more often than not, oral sex forms part of the foreplay before the actual intercourse. Where a quickie is concerned, it’s important to recognise that oral sex can be the main event.
Speaking to Women’s Health, Dr Debby Herbenick, author of Sex Made Easy (Running Press), says that it’s important to have lubricant at the ready when engaging in a quickie.
“With quickies, women’s bodies often don’t have adequate time to ‘warm up’,” she says.
