Popular movie producer cum actor, Olaide Obanji has advised ladies in the Yoruba movie industry to emulate late Moji Olaiya’s style when she was alive. He narrated most ladies in the industry live fake life style which does not lead to anywhere but destruction. While speaking with Yorubamoviegist.com reporter at the Moji Olaiya’s burial, he said,”I don’t know how I can describe Moji Olaiya. Among her female colleagues, she was the only person who was very calm, show respect to everyone, she wasn’t a blunt person.
I was pained when I heard about her death because she wasn’t that kind of person you can imagine she will die young. I met Moji in 2002, her first appearance in Yoruba movie was in my movie titled Mawoju E. I do see her in soup operas, then she was known as Ireti in those series, and I said to myself that I appreciate the way she act, my film was her first Yoruba movie she will appear in.
She wasn’t wayward; she was very jovial and very humbled. In our industry, most of us live fake lifestyle. The ladies in the industry behave like they will not die. With this sudden death of Moji, a lot of them are supposed to learn through her story, but they will never do so.
They prefer to continue living their fake life style until death visit them and there will be no chance for them to amend their wrong doing. I will continue to use death to preach to people. Sometimes when you are asleep, you know nothing again, same thing with death. So, I don’t know why people can’t change their attitude and live a better life.
Today, everyone is saying good things about Moji, my brothers and my sisters in the industry, what do you want people to say about you when you go? Moji was not sick before this happened, then why can’t we do good? May God be with her soul wherever she is right now. She lived a better life.
