The vandalised hotel owned by former governor of Ogun State Gbenga Daniel, The Abeokuta Conference Hotel is presently under reconstruction. The hotel is set to be completed by December. The hotel was vandalized during the tenure of ex-governor Ibikunle Amosun.
The Conference Hotel in Abeokuta, was sealed by the Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, based on what is known as: “Personal Order.”
Since the former Governor carried out the sealing of the hotel out as “Personal Order,” he deployed policemen posted to him to guard the place.
According to sources, Amosun could not get policemen from the Ogun State Police Command or the authority of the Inspector General of Police to seal the hotel, located on the State Secretariat Road at Oke Mosan, because there was no court order to such effect.
The new governor of Ogun state Dapo Abiodun has given an order for the hotel is to be reopened soon for business. Gbenga Daniel, according to report, has of been supervising the renovation in the hotel personally. The renovation is reportedly estimated to cost over 2 billion naira.
