Pastor Adeboye, a man revered by millions across the world is a great believer in the power of testimony. He himself is a living testimony. His sermons always contain stories about how people have experienced the Lord Jesus Christ in their lives. He remains the greatest servant of God known worldwide.
Even at his age, he will stand for hours preaching with radar-sharp alertness without any sign of fatigue. He is an uncommon being who is spiritually wealthy. Many times without a number, Pastor has revealed his special genuine love for obedience to God in all his life as the General Overseer for good 40 years, he once revealed the secret of his closeness to God.
Noted by members of the church and others for “signs, wonders and miracles,” he said, “the reason people have noticed that God answers my prayers quickly is because I am an incurable soul winner, which is one of the requirements for having dominion.”If you invite me to your function and hand me the microphone to make remarks you must be sure that I will use the opportunity to win souls,” he said.
God has used the pastor to perform any amazing miracles, and mantles he has blessed, including handkerchiefs, have been used to heal and raise the dead. Indeed, one may not have to look far for miracles. He is one himself.
As Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who is one of pastor Adeboye’s son and who also doubles as a pastor in redeemed church puts it, “For a man born to financially-challenged parents in the remote village of Ifewara, Osun State, who had no shoes at 18 years old, who was not a Born Again Christian until the time he was a mathematics teacher at the University of Lagos, becoming the leader of a church with a strong presence in over 198 countries (the church had only 4 parishes when he took over as General Overseer), and with over 32,000 parishes in Nigeria alone, is indeed, a miracle worth knowing. For this same man to remain infectiously humble, in spite of his enormous power, influence and popularity is also a miracle in itself.” The Special Holy Ghost Service was itself birthed in a miracle. It is the birthday gift God gave him upon request.
In Pastor Adeboye’s account: “In 1986, I was in London preparing the Sunday school booklet for the mission when I heard from God. He said, “Son, what do you want for your birthday?” was shocked. The reason I was shocked was that I didn’t know God was interested in my birthday. Secondly, I didn’t know He could be asking me about what I wanted as present.
So, I said, “Lord if that is you, please repeat the question.”He assured me it was Him and asked again what I wanted as a birthday present.I replied, “What I want is that all my members will get miracles.” And it happened. Also at one of the annual youth conventions, themed ‘His power and glory’, he revealed how, when and where he got awesome power to perform miracles. In a video shared by Pentecost TV, documented by a Dove TV, he said,
“I will remind you of a story that I have told before, 1979, Oklahoma in the USA, my father in the lord and 5 of us went to Kenneth Hagin camp meeting, there for the first time, I saw the lame walking, in our presence, I saw healings, I saw miracles, I was a young Christian then, though I have been reading about it, we have been having testimonies about it, alright. I mean I saw this raw demonstration of the power of God so I made up my mind, I am not going back to Nigeria without meeting this man, they said it is impossible to meet him, I said I will meet him.
when there is a will, there is a way. To cut a long story short, one way or the other, he gave me an appointment. As soon as those of us who went from Nigeria, we were many, from other denominations, as soon as they heard that I have an appointment with him, they joined in a bandwagon. We got there and they told me, he can only give you 15 mins, I said, aah, that is enough.
When we got to his office before I could say anything, the man asked, what can I do for you, and the people who went with me began to ask of all standards of things, one said, sir, I want you to give me permission to distribute your books in Nigeria, the second one said I want permission to be distributing your tapes in Nigeria, another one said I want your permission to be distributing your magazines in Nigeria, finally, he came to me, the one who booked the appointment, and he said, young man what do you want? , I said sir, what I want is, everything that is in you, that makes you, you, that is what I want, he was shocked, he said what do you say, I repeated myself, he said Okay, he called his secretary in, he said this one wants books, give him books, this one wants tapes, give him tapes, this one wants magazine, give him magazines, and then he said they should all move out, then he turned to me and said young man, kneel down, I went on my knees, I saw his hands coming towards me, that is all I remembered, by the time I woke up I was on the floor, he was kneeling beside me, his 2 hands on my head, and he was praying the holy spirit furiously. When I got up I knew I got what I wanted”.
No wonder, there have been raw testimonies of miracles God had performed through Pastor Adeboye in the lives of people who have come across him, his preachings and at his numerous programmes.
