It’s not new where the genesis of this Pandemic outbreak began in Wuhan, China.
There was a lot of controversy about the cause of the Pandemic. Some said it was a result of the consumption of Vultures birds, which resulted in deadly diseases killing the larger population of China. While others blame the Pandemic on the introduction of the 5G, new and more powerful wireless technology, which is believed to have deadly radiation, destroying lives.
After so many arguments, the whole world came to a conclusion of reasoning, on how to eradicate and find a cure to stop the Pandemic from consuming and destroying the whole world at large, instead of playing the blame game.
The Pandemic was reported to have been brought to ROI through an Italian visitor who arrived in Northern Ireland early this year.
Before too long, there was news of different people including Doctors and people from occupational discipline, who traveled to China or some of the nation’s where the Pandemic already existed returning to Dublin.
And because it was a new Pandemic outbreak, a lot of these people didn’t realise they had to quarantine for at least 14 days in order not to spread the virus.
Therefore, not too long the virus began to spread. This resulted in ROI starting a T.V, Radio, Postal, and leaflet campaigns on the safety measures to eradicate the spread of the virus, how to get tested for the virus by holiday returnees, how to self-observe the symptoms and quarantine, social distancing, etc.
And amidst all this, a lockdown was announced on the 12th of March stopping all educational activities from progressing and students were advised to return and stay at home, while online studies progressed.
And later, employers and employees from all works of life except frontline workers were advised to short down their businesses.
The minister of affairs in The ROI ensured to make monetary provision for all employed and unemployed citizens during the lockdown, in order to sustain the livelihoods of every household in the country.
Also, the homeless people were taken off the streets and were provided shelter and monetary support.
The lockdown which was assumed to last for weeks’ trial, gradually was extended for another 2 weeks, before it became indefinite to stop the lockdown as the Coronavirus started to increase at a faster rate.
At a time, the population figure that was affected by COVID- 19 was in hundreds and gradually increased to Thousands. Recently the COVID -19 affected figure in The ROI was 24,000 about a week ago.
And new cases are discovered on a daily basis.
The citizens of ROI also found it easy to cope during the lockdown, by observing and applying all the necessary healthy safety measures of hand sanitizing and regular hand washing, social distancing in every aspect of life. Including, during groceries shopping in the supermarkets, where everyone had a queue at a distance of 6ft apart from the next person. Call was made ahead of visits to the Pharmacy for medication collection, people were also allowed to crush boredom by going on a walk, cycling, run, etc., at a reasonable distance, not too far from their residence, so far social distancing was practiced.
After about 2 months of the lockdown the Irish minister decided to ease the lockdown by allowing the hardware department of the workforce reopened their businesses on May 18th.
Luckily, for the opportunity that warranted me to travel interstate, I traveled to the City of Dublin, to realise that indeed the Pandemic lockdown was the same everywhere. Every Estate was packed full of fleets of cars, parked on an individual’s driveway, car garages, roadside, and some cul de sac areas.
Although the effects of the Pandemic at Dublin was slightly lifely, and not as boring as it was in the Midlands (County Westmeath) where I reside, which is usually quite than normal before the Pandemic. And taxi drivers are not operating at all. Except for the state-local transport buses.
The Dublin motorways were stylishly busy, with fewer cars on the road, but lots of truck drivers, food delivery trailers to Supermarkets, Post office inter-state long delivery trailers. Bus Eiermann Express travel Coach services, owned by the state were functioning actively while other private travel coaches, like City link, Euro lines, had stopped functioning since the announcement the lockdown, since they’re fewer people traveling interstates.
The Gardi patrol cars were also seen driving around the Dublin road ensuring their peace, quiet, and safety everywhere.
Trams, Dublin intercity bus services, and of course taxis, were all actively functioning to transport frontline workers to and fro their places of work. And, also in order to transport people without cars around, to enable them do the grocery shopping with ease.
The most unique thing of interest to me is how well distributed the social distancing demarcation rule were generously outlined in the various active service buses, both the interstate and intercity buses and also in taxis, in which no passengers are allowed to seat next to the taxi driver and there’s a transparent plastic demarcation between the taxi driver and the passenger seating on the back seat. The taxi drivers are also not allowed to assist their clients in any way, to carry baggage or luggage in order to obey the Social distancing rules and regulations.
Indeed, our livelihood can’t really return to the same, due to the Pandemic outbreak of this type, which was said to occur many centuries ago, with similar occurrences in the mid-18th century.
The Pandemic definitely left Ireland with some unfortunate painful cancellation of great events. Such as Annual Crouch Patrick’s Pilgrimage and St. Patrick’s day celebration, which was also an annual celebration, which usually attracted tourists from other European countries, the United Kingdom, and United States. And the money made from such great events plays a huge impact on the tourism Economy of the Republic of Ireland.
Another section of the economic, drastically affected, is the leisure and relaxation money made, from Golfers who travel to Ireland during the Summer to spent quality times with their friends, playing the games of golf at the various astonishing golf courses clubs, such as Glasson golf course club at Glasson Hotel and Hudson Bay golf course in Athlon, along the Roscommon road… etc.
Recently, I came across an article, that reads “Guinness breweries staffs have stopped the production of the Irish Guinness beer’s ” due to the Pandemic. The majority of the Pubs in Ireland had been shut down from businesses to ensure Social distancing safety regulations, in order to prevent the spread of COVID – 19 Pandemic.
Affected too, are all the places of worship in the Republic of Ireland, the Church weekly and Sunday services, and of course Friday Mosques services had all been shut down.
Majority of the Churches have embarked on online YouTube or Facebook live services to promote joint congregational worship and active prayer plea and supplication to God, to have mercy on human kinds and stop the Pandemic from spreading or give the scientists across the globe, discover a vaccine or cure to eliminate the Pandemic Virus from claiming more lives. And seek God for the forgiveness of the sins of the world, that’s consuming some Christians with fear or doubt of Our God’s existence, during this trial period.
All the Irish Prime Ministers made tremendous decisions with one voice during the COVID -19 Pandemic, by agreeing to the safety, wellbeing, and welfare of their citizens. The Irish Finance Ministers. Paschal Donohoe, The Minister of Employment Affairs and Social Protection Regina Doherty, and especially the Minister in charge of Health Simon Harris, TD, all worked together by making sure everyone was taken care of, both the employed and unemployed sector of the Population, financially during the lockdown. Which made it easy for everyone to be law-abiding. And adhere to all the outline rules, guidelines, and regulations to eliminate the spread of the deadly Pandemic outbreak.
The European Union leaders did an amazing, excellent job across the European Countries, by working day and night, and back to back to ensure the safety of their Citizens.
The lockdown ease was brought about on the 18th to allow the hardware sector employees like (Woodies DIY Stores, B&Q DIY decorating and garden supplies Stores and others) reopen the business, to join and support the economy with other frontline workers who had done a fantastic tireless job by continuing working during the Pandemic outbreak.
The whole world continues to be grateful and appreciative of their Superb spirit and kindness to humanity, which was well show displayed.
The news had it recently, that the lockdown ease was made possible due to reductions in numbers of people affected by COVID -19.
Also, the death rate had also reduced as many of the COVID -19 are gradually recovering.
Over time, maybe around the month of July, more employees in barbing and hairdressing sector would also be allowed to reopen the business, all things being equal. Without any drastic reoccurring negative outbreak of the Pandemic.
