KOWA Party Presidential aspirant, Sina Fagbenro-Byron has come out to reveal why he wants to be the next President of Nigeria.
The 59-year-old Lawyer, Economist and development strategist was at the City People Event Centre last week Thursday to reveal his plans. He stormed the event along with a powerful entourage of his campaign aides and KOWA Party officials which includes his pretty wife, Mrs. Lolade Fagbenro, another KOWA Presidential aspirant, Ayo Lijadu, KOWA Party Chairman in Lagos, Dr. Fadahunsi Fajuyitan, KOWA Lagos PRO, Marvins Abhulumene. All the House of Reps aspirants of KOWA Party from Lagos came, like Adebakin Sirajudeen Ademola, Kowa House of Reps aspirant for Mushin Constituency 2, Ikphohosa Olotu (Eti-Osa), Michael Emmanuel (Alimosho Federal Constituency) and Eng. Segun Kehinde, one of the Chief Strategists for the Sina Fagbenro Byron (SFB) campaign team.
Mr. Byron highlighted reasons why Nigeria has not done well economically and politically. He said there was hope if the right people are elected. He pointed out that the numerous natural and human resources available at the country’s disposal are capable of making the country great.
The KOWA presidential aspirant also said that God has blessed Nigeria with the talent and population but previous governments have neglected plans to cater for the teeming population and that has hindered many progressive moves that should have launched the country to greatness. He said, “both PDP and APC have promised to restructure Nigeria in 2011 and 2015 but refused to do so when they got the mantle of leadership.” He further suggested that Nigeria needs to be restructured saying KOWA supports the restructuring of the country. The presidential aspirant hinted that the country may cease to exist if the security issues and high poverty level do not decrease , saying that Violence and Poverty are two indices that can lead a country into extinction. He explained that “other political parties like the ruling APC and PDP strive on god fatherism, insisting that God fatherism is non- existent in KOWA”. Fagbenro stated that KOWA political party was formed in July 2010 and that the party is devoid of sectionalism and God-fatherism, saying that it only allows people of like minds and genuine intent to join and become members.
Highlighting his manifestoe, Sina Fagbenro-Byron hammered on protecting and taking seriously the country’s national interest. He emphasized that Education is the bedrock of a prospering economy,saying that it is a matter of national security that should not be seen as  a luxury.He added that his government has plans to give zero tolerance to illiteracy and hunger. He believes that education has to be compulsory for children, whilst he will tackle hunger and reduce it to the barest minimum. On his plans and agenda for the country, Sina Fagbenro-Bryon set out Security&Safety, Health& Education, Environment, ICT & Information Technology and Infrastructure & Economy as top 5 priorities on his agenda.
He revealed why the security architecture of the country has to be properly reviewed and given a facelift from what it is at the moment. On Health and Education , he stressed that for any country to prosper the health and education sector should be critically looked into. On Environmental issues, he believes that Lake Chad should be reclaimed and properly taken care of saying that since it started shrinking the economy of the countrybegan to nosedive.He said efforts should be made to revive it. On ICT and Innovation he claims that no country would joke with it. He pointed out that Technology has been responsible for many nations economic breakthroughs.
On Infrastructure and economy, he reiterated that standard living condition means exposing the citizens of a country to proper infrastructural facilities that will lead to prospering economy.
Sina Fagbenro-Bryon holds two degrees in Economics and Law. He has had 25 years of professional experience covering Law, Consultancy, Social and Public Service with a rich and ever growing understanding of international developmental issues. He retired from the Department of International Development (DFID) in September 2015 after serving in various capacities as an expert.
