Saturday, June 30, 2018 marked a double honor for popular Islamic musician Alhaja Ruqoyaah Gawat Oyefeso as she marked her umurah welcome dance and birthday bash at the City People Magazine event center in Gbagada, Lagos.
The event started with praises for Allah who is being acknowledged as the main source of strength for the celebrant as Sheik Lukuman Badnus Afeniferere opened the floor woth showers of prayer for the celebrant and everyone present.
MC of the day, Adeshina Lateef popularly known as Aramanda lighted up the atmosphere with several rib cracking jokes as he announces the names of special guests of honor who came to honour the music icon who has touched many lives and impacted both the young and old with her music.
Special Guests of Honour
The list of special guests of honor at the double bash for this beautiful music star was so long. However, a few well recognized people were annpounced by Aramanda who doubles as a multi-talented MC with class.
First on the list was the mother of the celebrant, Alhaja Ramotalahi Lawal and her friend, Alhaja Muyibat Arowolo. Many Islamic clerics also show their love and support for the celebrant as they turned in in their numbers. Those invited to fill the high table were Sheik Lukumon Badmus Afeniferere, Alhaji Abdul Akeem Nyas Kaola, Alhaji Abdul Akeem Imam, Azakiru Waliyalaih Owonikoko, and Sheik Al Khalifa Subuhanolai Sheriffdeen Sha Mashad.
The PA to Osun State Governor, Honorable Taofeeq Masha, the chairman, Lagos state NASFAT, Prince Adele Taofeek and the CEO, Talmot Communications, Alhaji Tajudeen Uzamot.
Accolades went up for the celebrant
Several accolades and words of encouragement went up for the celebrant. It all started with Gawat’s mother, Alhaja Ramotalahi Arowolo singing praises of the songbird. She thanked God for making her see her daughter’s big day. She prayed for continuous uplift for the celebrant and more bliss and career breakthrough.
The CEO of Talmat communications, Alhaji Tajudeen Uzamot while singing the praises of the celebrant says “I’m a friend to the father of the celebrant and we are so intimate. Ruqoyaat Gawat is a complete gentle woman from childhood; she’s so intelligent and smart. She’s also very kindhearted, there’s nothing she cannot give out from her tender age. She also possesses the fear of God and very gifted. She has brought a positive competition to Islamic music and passes her messages clearly through her music.”
Several Islamic Music Artist Flood The Venue
One would naturally not expect many Islamic musicians to turn up for this kind of event simply because of the kind of stiff competition in the industry but for Ruqoyaat Gawat, it was entirely different because the house was filled with numerous colleagues of hers in the industry.
In no particular order, some of the Islamic musician present were Amira Hafsat Jimoh Adegoke (Oninu’re) Hajia Rukayat Damilola Alubarika, Hajia Hassanat Ololade Eyinju, Ustaz Jamiu Akobi,Hajia Ayisat Aseyori, Hajia Queen Amirat Aridunnu, Hajia Kadijat Waka Queen.
Other Islamic musicians present were; Ustaz Abdul Rasaki Kakaki Anobi, Hajia Anifat Omojola, Alhaji Sulaiman Albushrah, Alhaji Qozeem Akogbaorin, Hajia Sherifat Gawat, Fancy Mubarak.
A very exceptional performance that shook the roof was that of an hip hop act who took the entire audience by storm. The energetic entertainer and performer who goes by the name Kool Boy left the audience requesting for more of his tunes.
Ruqoyaah Gawat Fans Club Duly Represented
The ever supportive members of the Ruqoyaah Gawat fans club marked their presence with a superb orange on white outfit that stood them out in the crowded auditorium.
And the Audience was thrilled in the end
The day wouldn’t be complete without making mention of how the Islamic music queen herself, Ruqoyaat Gawat thrilled the audience with different tunes from her past albums and new praise singing tunes.
In the end, everyone present had fun and derived maximum satisfaction from a time well spent.
