•Details Of LION ADEMOLA ADESOYE’s Acceptance Speech
As a popular saying goes, “A good turn deserves another”. This is a typical example of the age-long existing relationship between Lions Club and City People Magazine. Leaders of both organizations, Lion Dr. Ademola Adesoye the District Governor 404B-2, and Dr. Seye Kehinde, the Publisher of City People last week agreed to partner and work together on some of the Lions Clubs’ events especially the maiden edition of its much-anticipated beauty contest, “Miss Humanity 2021”
This meeting took place last Wednesday, 27th January 2021, when the Lions Club’s District Governor and his team visited City People Magazine’s office in Lagos. The district governor thanked City People for its quality and top-notch journalism exhibited in the media space from its inception 25 years ago. He said the magazine had shown the capacity to quickly move along with trends, a quality which made it stand out among other soft-sell publications in the country.
“We will want City People Magazine to be on ground for our events. We are going to showcase our self this year. We want to partner with you. Partnering with you will make it so strong. We want to have your brand on some part of the hall in the venue. Part of what we want to do is to invite the media around. We want it to go viral. This is one of the reasons we will want to partner with City People.”
While receiving the team from Lions Club, the Publisher of City People, Seye Kehinde, recounted the company’s relationship with previous administrators of Lions Club, as cordial and productive.
“I am quite familiar with the concept of Lions Club. It’s an organisation doing good things, which are part of the vision and mission of the founding fathers of the club; giving back to society, touching lives, and all of that. I feel very happy that you thought about us by paying us a visit. That touches our heart coupled with the fact that you found us worthy of being of partner on this journey of trying to make sure that your administration achieves your projects. We will be always there to support you in whichever way you think we could be relevant. I must also commend all the efforts you have made in the last few months to keep the club growing stronger despite the difficult times we are in.”

I cannot but wholeheartedly thank you, great leaders, friends, and all distinguished lions of district 404B2 for the massive support and great approval you gave me at the electioneering in Calabar and subsequent elections after then.
“It is my opinion at this level to say that joining Lions Clubs International about fifteen years ago was as a result of my determination to give back to the society from the opportunity given to me by God Almighty. Two years ago, I declared my intention to contest the position of Second Vice District Governor. This is because of my contribution to the association from membership director of my club, later to Second Vice President, First Vice President, President, and later to the district positions which were continuous till date. I also want to express my unequivocal and profound gratitude to the leadership of our great association who has contributed to my development and growth in Lionism. They have been the ones monitoring me and have afforded me a lot of training opportunities from the club level to the faculty development institute. These leadership development opportunities had largely equipped me for the wonderful job ahead as the District Governor 2020-2021.”
“Dear esteemed Lions, it is with a great sense of responsibility and the highest sense of humility that I, Ademola Ayodele Adesoye, stand before you in the presence of the Almighty God and great leaders of our association, to accept this rare privilege of my elevation to this exalted position of the District Governor of Lions Clubs International, District 404B2 Nigeria, 2020-2021 Lions service year. I shall uphold the Constitution of our association as well as the Lions Code of Ethics together-with Lions International Purpose.
