Fresh facts have emerged on why Jimi Agbaje lost the recent elections to his APC counterpart Jide Sanwo Olu. Citypeople Online can authoritatively reveal that it is majorly because of the infighting among the top party chieftains in Lagos. Citypeople learned that this also accounted for why Atiku also lost Lagos to Buhari.
Last week, at a meeting of stakeholders in Lagos PDP, held to review the party’s performance, it was discovered that the party suffered a lot of deep seated crisis among big players in the party some of whom do not like the choice of Jimi Agbaje and therefore worked from within to sabotage his efforts.
Citypeople Magazine found out that a lot of intrigues got the party divided. One aggrieved party chieftain revealed how Jimi Agbaje didn’t like his choice to handle the PDP campaign in Lagos. This Chieftain was also involved in the Atiku Campaign in Lagos.
He said Jimi was unhappy with his choice so Jimi never called him to discuss how to go about the campaign. He never called him to discuss with him the operations and work schedule of his office.
He added that there was no template for the harmonization of his group with the legitimate party organ and structure at the party office in lkeja. He felt he was not going to work with him and the Party on 2019 general elections.
He accused Jimi to have made it clear to many that he was not going to have anything to do with him. According to the party chieftain, “I spoke with him several times on the phone in my attempt to diplomatically bring some focus and order without any success”.
He said Jimi was emphatic on who he preferred because he needed somebody he could control just like he wanted to control the entire party with his inner core group of politicians.
Citypeople Magazine gathered that the Lagos PDP throughout the period of the election was a divided house on to itself.
