+Why His Wife TITI Means A Lot To Him
On Friday 21st of April, 2017, Fuji Czar, King Wasiu Ayinde, K1 threw a classy naming ceremony for his new daughter, Baby Fawzeeyah at his Oju’sagbola Mansion in Ijebu. As expected, it witnessed a huge turnout of guests who all came to share in the joy of the popular Masha Eshilokun family, the parent of K1’s wife, Titi Masha. The elated father, K1, didn’t leave any stone unturned to make sure the event was grand. He spoke to City People Assistant Society Editor, ABIOLA ORISILE on many reasons he will never get tired of his wife, Titi, why he shifted his 60th birthday and much more. Enjoy Excerpt.
How did you feel when you heard that your wife had put to bed?
I was so happy and full of joy that my darling wife put to bed safely.
You and your new baby Fauzeeyah were born on the same day, Friday, how does this make you feel?
I am happy but it is just that we came to the world in a different month. She came in April while I was born in March.
Is it true that you have not had your 60th birthday?
Yes, I haven’t celebrated my 60th birthday and I have my reasons for that. firstly, while my birthday was on, we w ere expecting my wife to deliver and she had to go to America. I also don’t see any sense in it, when my wife is not around and I will be celebrating birthday when my better half is outside the country. So I decided to wait till she put to bed and when she gives birth, we can then be talking about every other thing. So, my birthday has being shifted to the month of July.
You christened your new baby, Fawzeeyah which means Mojere (I have gained), what reason do you have for this?
It has a lot of meaning for every woman and every relationship I have had in the past, none of my partners had ever given birth to two kids. She did more than 2 and this is Mojere.
You once said that your wife doesn’t choke you, what does this mean?
A good relationship needs understanding. When you say you are in love, there is one thing to be in love and another thing to be crazy in love. If you borrow the word crazily being in love that means you might not be doing things rightly. I will rather accept being in love than crazily being in love. I don’t want to find myself crazily in love. Titi is so much in love and everything is working out good for us. No choking, there are lots of understanding and she never listens to hear-say.
That is why she never chokes me. That is why when she called and at the other end saw that I wasn’t picking up, she left it for reasons to set in. what are the reasons? That I am busy and will call back when I see her missed calls. That has been our normal norms. Normal norms are that I respect her and love her. When she has emergency, she will call my boys to know who is around me.
And even before Titi would do this, there must be something so important she wants to tell me. She knows the normal norms that if I don’t get back now, I will surely get back to attend to her. Titi was able to manage that relationship so well that I wished many people will come to learn one or two things from her. I am not that easy person and for Titi to be able to get along with me while the love keeps burning like we just met yesterday then she has lots of tolerance. She was tutored well about been someone that has been the magic that work for us. That is one of the many reasons I will never get tired of her.
She cannot be doing all these and I will get tired of her. She knows when I am high. She knows also my low moment. She does things accordingly. When man and woman don’t choke each other, there won’t be disagreement, raising of voice. Titi and I had never raised voices at each other for once. This is because she is always ready to play number 2. She is not dragging number one.
(Cuts in). But she is an only wife? Yes, she is the only one and she is very confident. She has not given me room to say because you are doing this, I should go and look for the second person. There is no second person in the picture at all.
You always sing about her pedigree, would you say this contributed to it?
Well, yes. It contributed to her person. Her father is Olori Oniwasi of Lagos and her mother, Alhaja Mosuns Mashal has been married to her husband for decades. She got good pedigree. That understanding is got to be much stocked in that person that you are dealing with. Yes, there could be one or two discussions but when number 1 knows that number 2 always give in, there is no reason for disagreement. And number 2 doesn’t drag number 1 spot, no reason for disagreement as well. The background of Titi’s behavior has a lot to do with our relationship. Her background, family also have an effect on her, what she sees her parent do, the kind of life they live, what she sees them do everyday also have effect on her.
When I also got to mix with the family, I got to understand that she is tolerating as well.
You were sighted with your wife before she put to bed at a grocery store shopping, despite your tight schedule?
What people don’t know is that despite my tight schedule, I find time to be with my wife and kids. No matter how busy a man is, he must be able to find time for them. I practice what I preach. One should let one’s wife know this is my husband. It is not just about money, your wife needs you to be there always.
Why did you decide to name your child after you Olasunkami, knowing it’s a masculine name?
No, Olasunkami is a name not only for males. I have seen a female bears Olasunkanmi. It has lots of meaning to me.
What does it mean to you?
Moment dictates what you do. If you look at what is happening to me now, there are good things all happening around me. So Olasunkani is a name that depict all the good things that is happening to me now.
What are your plans for your 60th?
We are going to have it big. We are looking good by God grace. By then, my darling wife would have been back from the States. So, I have enough time to plan it.
You don’t look 60, what is the secret?
It is God’s grace. That is my Mum over there, she is going to be 99 by October this year. Every time I look at my Mum, she doesn’t look 99. So it a blessing.
You have lots of event in the pipeline, how do you rest?
I rest. I am performing tomorrow, and Sunday. My body system is used to it. Aside performing I have people who do other stuff for me.
You call your wife, Opemi, why the choice of this out of all her names?
Opeyemi is her name. Maybe it wouldn’t have been easy calling her Darling. People call her Titi, Fathia but I love Opeyemi.
You are also having another naming, is it going to be on your 60th birthday?
Yes, it is going to be a two-in-one 60th birthday with my daughter’s naming in July.
