•Reveals Why He Is Against Rev. MBAKA
•Calls Pastor ADEBOYE & Co. Political Pastors
Last February 14, 2020, was the birthday of the popular man of God and founder of
INRI Evangelical Church, Primate Ayodele Elijah. Traditionally, the respected Cleric usually holds his birthdays annually and often uses the occasion to support the needy and empower them. The aged, widows, unemployed youths and artisans are often supported by the Primate who has become particularly respected for his ground breaking prophecies.
But this year’s celebration had a difference. It was much bigger. The occasion was used to mark the official investiture of Primate Ayodele as a top Ambassador of the United Nations World Peace Organisation.
This year’s event had in attendance His Excellency, World Peace President from Denmark, Ambassador Per Stafsen (JP), George Ojadi, P.A World Peace, President, Amb. Dr. Emmanuel Nkweke (JP) International Spokesman, World Peace, Amb. Dr. Chinedu Tony, Country Director, South Africa, the Maiyegun of Yorubaland, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, Prince Anofiu Olanrewaju, Elegushi, Hon. Comm. for Home Affairs, Rev. Bukola Adeleke, Special Adviser on Religion (Christianity), traditional rulers and several other distinguished guests. Music was supplied by the very versatile church choir of INRI.
King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal aka. K1, also gave a short but spectacular performance. Towards the tail end of the event, the celebrant squeezed out time to talk to the press and release his traditional birthday message for the nation. Below are excerpts of the brief interview.
Sir, it is your birthday today, what is your message to Nigerians at this time?
President Buhari must be called to order. There is serious insecurity in Nigeria. The blood of innocent Nigerians killed for no just cause are crying and this can cause problems for President Buhari. This government is not handling this security issue as carefully as it should. There is no peace in the land. Instead of promoting peace, they promote disorderliness. Why is he keeping the service chiefs? These are people who are tired. These are people who do not understand the dynamics of security and the modern ways of tackling them.
Nigerians are crying, there is too much death in the land. The president should seek divine intervention to fight Boko Haram and that is my candid advice. The kind of terrorism in Nigeria is the type that cannot be defeated in 30 years, except the government works with the men of God, and I mean genuine men of God. Not the people that will be deceiving them and telling them what they want to hear. We say no to that. Nigerians are sick and tired of killings, of terrorism, of bomb scare. Truth of the matter is that the government of President Buhari is weak and because of its weakness, other problems will begin to come up.
For the Igbos, if they miss the presidency come 2023, they will never see the presidency till another life. And President Buhari should listen, Nigeria’s foundation is shaking. It is shaking terribly. The economy is shaking. Nigeria can break at any time if care is not taken. Do not underestimate IPOB. IPOB might come to reality. Nigerians want peace. The government should work with genuine men of God so we can find ways to achieve peace. In the olden days in the bible, even in the Quaran, they consulted prophets to achieve peace. We need peace, enough of killings.
Sir, don’t you think the church that should stand on the path of truth has also failed the nation?
Well, as for me, I want to speak for myself, I have not failed anybody. The point is this, the pastors who are working with the government have become stooges. You cannot tell me that a prophet has now taken over the responsibility to direct a nation. There’s a difference between a pastor and a prophet and an Apostle. A prophet is to lead and direct and our nation right. That we have not been able to distinguish between prophets and pastors is part of the things causing us problems.
You have been known to always speak the truth to the government, have you ever been threatened for speaking the truth?
No, I have never faced any challenge or challenges from any quarters. I am okay and I stand by whatever I say. They will not threaten me because they know I am speaking the truth and nothing but the truth. So, I’ve never been threatened.
Sir, the Lagos state government recently banned Okada and Keke and today, you have given out Keke to a few people, how do you think they can make use of the Keke with the ban already in progress?
No, listen very well. Everybody knows that I am one of the people who never hesitates to tell Governor Sanwo-Olu he’s doing something wrong whenever I see that he’s going astray. I criticized them for banning Okada and Keke. But now, they have made it clear to me that they did not ban Okada and Keke, they were only restricted in some local governments, about six of them. My advice is that the government should take the message round so that the people will not misquote him.
The UN is celebrating its 75 years anniversary today and they are, as usual, preaching the message of peace. There are so many countries in crisis right now. Even here in Nigeria, there is conflict and killings in many parts of the north. As a clergy, what is your message to those countries in chaos?
Well, that is why I have been chosen as a peace ambassador. I am expected to bring my own idea from the spiritual angle. We dialogue and look at things from the spiritual angle not from the physical. I must be very careful with my utterances, no dilutions. I will say it the way it is. I will tell them the best way to get results. We will sit down together and collaborate.
Are you seeing yourself as one of those prophets like Prophet Mbaka?
Like Who? Mbaka is not a prophet. Who says Mbaka is not a prophet? Who is Mbaka? Mbaka in not a prophet and I say this with all sense of responsibility that Mbaka is not a prophet. Mbaka only mixes words and turns them to utterances, he has never prophesied. Mbaka is not a prophet.
Why did you refer to some men of God as political pastors?
What I will say is this, and I will give it to you straight- I am referring to Pastors who only project or say the position of the government and not the position of the masses. Pastor Adeboye is number one, Kumuyi is number two and Olukoya, number three. These people only support government’s policies. They will never call the government to order and say, let’s do it this way. Tell the government what the masses are going through, that is when we’ll know they are representing the masses, the under privileged. Me, I am a prophet of the poor and I will continue to advocate for them.
Tell us why you refused to collect, the award of OON?
Its because I’m not interested because that’s not what God called me to do. This one, This one, I will work. I will sweat. I will struggle. I am not a rich pastor, most times, I put my resources together and sell my properties to satisfy people. I am not a celebrity pastor, my own is to see to the affairs of the needy. I give them food, I provide shelter. So, I’m not a celebrity pastor, instead, I think more about the needy. I am not a flamboyant pastor. I don’t go out.
