Swatch is a leading watch brand which is known for its versatile, durable and stylish designs.
As a way to celebrate their customers in the season of love, Swatch Nigeria gave away watches running into millions in naira to lucky customers across their 13 stores nationwide, as a way to say thank you for standing by them year in, year out.
The Swiss made brand organized a raffle draw for their Valentine Promo tagged “Gift and Win Promo”, where the lucky winners were picked and presented their gifts in-store.
A popular businessman once posited that the secret of a thriving business is hidden in the satisfaction of the customers. This saying has proven to be true on many occasions and once again worked well for Smartmark Nigeria Limited, the sole distributor of Swatch wristwatches in Nigeria and Ghana.
Customers Get Reward For Their Patronage
Customers, who bought Swatch wristwatches from any of their stores during the Valentine Promo, irrespective of the amount or quantity bought, filled a form and the forms were collated for the raffle draw.
The Marketing Manager for Novare-Lekki Mall, Mr Elias Eze picked the winners for the Novare-Lekki Mall and the Palms Lekki Mall raffle draw respectively, which took place at the Swatch store in Novare-Lekki Mall, Sangotedo, Lagos.
At the Adeniran Ogunsanya Shopping Mall, Surulere, the Operations Manager Mr Bankole picked the winners for the Adeniran Ogunsanya Shopping Mall and the Ikeja City Mall raffle draw respectively.
Why Swatch Rewards Customers in Valentine Season?
The brand manager, Swatch Nigeria for Smartmark Limited, Mutiah Oropo who spoke to City People’s Brands & Products revealed that the essence of the event was to say thank you to their customers, show them love and appreciate them for their loyalty.
“February is the month of love as we all know, and during the Valentine period, we ran a promo in stores to show love to our customers. It was our way of saying thank you, our way of saying “we love you” to our customers.”
Happy Customers Express Excitement
Everyone who receives a gift no matter how small will surely be excited, more so one that is not expectant of the gift. Some of the winners expressed excitement after receiving the gifts of expensive wristwatches unexpectedly.
One of the winners at Novera-Lekki Mall, Mr Kunle Fagbayi who won a wristwatch, while speaking with Brands & Products said:
“Well, I feel excited, I’ve been using Swatch wristwatches for more than five years and this is surely an addition to what I have.”
“I want to say thank you to the company and that they should keep it up. To be frank, Swatch has been doing well so far. Since I’ve been patronizing them, I am yet to see a loophole or an area I expect improvements, their customer service is very good, they should just keep it up.”
A female winner at the Novera-Lekki Mall, Joy James fortunately had only patronized Swatch for the very first time and was hugely rewarded. She won herself a golden wristwatch; she had this to say to Brands & Products.
“I feel so excited; this is my first time of patronizing Swatch and also my first time of winning this kind of gift so I am very excited.”
“I’ve been using other brands before but now I’m so much in love with Swatch, It’s like I will always return here to get more products and a very big thanks to Swatch.”
Another winner, Mr Temilola Agoro also had a brief chat with Brands & Products and he had this to say:
“Sure like every other person would feel, I feel happy. The most important thing is when you are loyal to a brand, they once in a while pay back, it gives you a sense of belonging that you are dealing with the right company and you will always look forward to dealing with them again and patronize them even more.”
“I’ve been wearing Swatch for like nine years and funny enough the wristwatch I’m even wearing today is Swatch! I didn’t even know they were going to call me. The one I’m wearing now is about four years. I just came in that day to pick up a gift for my friend and they took down my name and contact. “Although I’m indifferent about promo, I just feel that for every big brand, when you give back to your customers, it gives them the confidence, it shows it’s not just about taking and taking, giving back goes a long way, it gives you loyalty and people want to identify with you.”
“Swatch is one outstanding brand, they’ve been there for years, it’s a known name and one thing that made me stick with them is that there was one time I had issues with my wristwatch that was still on warranty, they were able to take it, they tried to repair it but they couldn’t, they had to replace it with a brand new one. I mean that’s something that goes a long way and it’s not just only in Nigeria, it’s international. You can even buy Swatch in Nigeria and take it to London for them to replace once you have your warranty, it’s applicable. So it’s a brand you want to stick with always.

We promised we were going to reward our customers through a raffle draw in all our Swatch outlets.”

One of the winners from Surulere who purchased his watch at Ikeja City Mall, Mr Makinde Adedayo expressed his joy being the winner of an exotic brand of Swatch :
“All my lines are Swatch; all my collections are Swatch. Fortunately for me, this is the next collection of watch I planned to buy. It is grace to me that I won the exact brand of watch I had wanted to buy!”
“Swatch is a lifetime wristwatch. I have been using my watch for the past six years and the only thing I have changed once is the battery. Even my wife uses Swatch.”
Mrs. Mba Ikechuckwu, a proud winner of the Valentine raffle draw, expressed her joy after winning a smart Swatch wristwatch,

Another winner from Surulere, Ogundeyin Abimbola said;
