Omoba Ademuyiwa James Oyebanji, was born in the early 70’s to the family of Adeboye & Omolabake Oyebanji of Ile-Ife, Osun State.
He attended Ebire Nursery & Primary School, Felele Layout, Ibadan. He rounded off his primary education at Ire-Akari Primary school, Isolo-Lagos. He went to Okota Secondary school, Okota-Isolo, in Lagos, He studied Theatre Arts and graduated with a Diploma (2years) and Degree level respectively at the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom state. He did a certificate program with National Film Institute, Jos, in Cinematography and Documentary Film making.
“I was trained by the best of brains in my field,” he told CityPeople. “I am talking about the likes of Prof Hyginus Ekwuazi , Prof Bakare Ojo Rasaki(currently Commissioner of Arts, Culture & Tourism-Ekiti state), U.S.A Galadima, Dr Inih A. Ebong, Dr Stephen Inegbe, Nissi George, etc.”
“I was a lecturer with Wale Adenuga’s PEFTI FILM INSTITUTE where I taught Directing, Still Photography and Cinematography. I also became the pioneering Head Of Department of Performing and Media Arts at Eko College Of Management And Technology, Egbe, Lagos.”
I worked as a Producer / Presenter with Mimatson Communication, a sub-tv station in Port-Harcourt. I have
handled several projects with notable figures in the creative industry, amongst who are Ayo Jaiyesimi, Bakare Ojo Rasaki, Tarila Thompson, Justus Esiri, Segun Arinze, Ejike Asiegbu, Ibinabo Fiberesima, Emeka Rollas, Jibola Dabo, etc.”
He is currently the Creative Director of Scholastic Art Creations and the Oyo state Chapter Chairman of Actors Guild of Nigeria.
