Many Nigerians are yet to come to terms with the sudden death of Ibidun Ighodalo, a former beauty queen.
Ibidun, the 39-year-old ex-beauty queen, was the adorable wife of popular Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, the head of Trinity House Church.
There have been reactions and messages of condolence from people across Nigeria and beyond.
President Muhammadu Buhari, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, governors and many others have sympathised with the family.
To many, the death of Ibidun should not have come at a time like this when she is still very young, she is yet to clock 40.
Joining others who have commented on and mourned the death of Ibidun Ighodalo, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye broke his silence.
Adeboye’s comment is coming barely four days after the sad incident.
Ibidun, who was an event planner, reportedly died on Sunday, in a hotel room somewhere in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
Report has it that she was in Rivers State to erect some COVID-19 isolation centres.
Her death has sparked up discussions among Nigerians on social media, especially among those in the entertainment industry.
Speaking about her demise, Adeboye revealed that he was saddened when he heard the news of Ibidun Ighodalo’s death.
But, the man of God did not lose hope as he expressed confidence in the fact that Ibidun Ighodalo should be in a better place right now.
In his message to the bereaved family of Pastor Ighodalo, Adeboye said God will comfort them.
In a tweet in the early hours of Thursday on his verified Twitter handle, Adeboye said: “Hearing the news of @ibidunni_ighodalo ‘s demise was really saddening but I know that she is in a better place right now. I pray that the Almighty himself will comfort the family of @pastorituahighodalo in Jesus name.”
Meanwhile, the family of the deceased said her remains will be laid to rest on Saturday.
She is to be buried on Saturday, June 20 in Lagos.
May her soul rest in peace.
