Former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel on Saturday received in audience a delegation of the ‘100 Women Advocacy Work Group’ at his Asoludero Court Sagamu country home.
According to the leader of the Group Prof Olubunmi Ashimolowo the purpose of the visit was to solicit the support of the former Governor on all its programs and objectives especially in the upliftment of the women folk.
The aim of the group according to Ashimolowo is to sensitize women across the length and breadth of the country which also include grassroot organizations, removal of legal and other obstacles against women emancipation and political participation.
In response Otunba Daniel expressed confidence in the ability of women especially because he worked with quite a number of them in critical areas and departments of administration when he served as Governor of Ogun State between 2003 and 2011. He therefore assured them of his unwavering support in all ramifications.
He informed the leadership and members of the Work Group that he is ready to make available facilities of The Political Leadership & Training Institute, also known as The Political Academy (POLA) which he founded for their Training Programmes at no cost.
Also in attendance were the Barr Olajumoke Peters-Fadairo, Adebukola Okuneye, Esther Shittu and others from the State wing of the Work Group.
