It was an array of over 1000 female celebrities’ two weeks back, on Friday, 8th of February 2018, as Oil Guru, Demola Akile Shabi buried mum in grand style in Ijebu-Ode. The event was one of its kind, as many Lagos society women moved in droves to Dipo Dina stadium in Ijebu-Ode where the grand finale of the 3day burial took place.
Despite the fact that Otunba Demola Shabi spared no cost to make sure that his mum had a befitting burial, his pretty wives and friends spared no cost to make sure they paid Demola back for all his good deed. This is because Demola always support all his friends whenever they have a party to do. This must have been why popular Fuji Musician, Dr Sikiru Ayinde Barrister sang “Bo olowo to Shabi, o le na Owo to Shabi, Bo ra moto to Shabi, o le demo to sha“(If you have money like Shabi, you can’t spend it like Shabi).
Of course, as expected of many Lagos society women, over 1000 society women turned up in various eye catching styles while their make-up was also on point. They all came out to honour Mrs Shabi Senior, Mrs Morufat Kalejaiye-Shabi and Olufunke Komina.
Two society women whose beautiful look caught our attention at the event were 2 celebrity sisters, Mrs. Bukola Alli Balogun and Otunba Folasade Adesoye. They were one of the early callers at the 3 day burial. They were there to show support to Demola Shabi. Though Morufat Kalejaiye who is Shabis wife is very close to Sade Adesoye but Demola Akile also supported Adesoye when her son wedded many years ago. Sade Adesoye, who is a top diamond merchant, stepped up her game as her diamond collection of pearls dazzled on her neck. Though Folasade Adunni Risikat, as she is fondly called never jokes with her “Boubou style abaya“, she however wowed many with her luxury diamond set.
Another society woman who was very visible at the event was Bimbo Pitan. Slim and curvy, Bimbo’s flowing gown made many heads turn. She wore her 150k multi-coloured special aso-ijo with an 18carat gold set. Did we tell you ever radiant, Mrs Peju Muraino, the Ceo of Mauve 21, the number one Luxury lounge and Bar in Ibadan also made it? Of course, she is very close to Mrs Sade Adesoye and Mrs Morufat Kalejaiye-Shabi.
We also couldn’t take our eyes off pretty Olori Risikat Adams, the wife of Lagos monarch, Oba Lateef Adams. She has shed quite some weight and you could be forced to ask if she is about to clock 61. She looked really great for her age . We couldn’t help but admire, Iyalaje of Ijebuland, Mrs Korede Alatise, and the Iyalode of Egbe Bobagunte. She enjoyed the event chatting with Olori Risikat Adams (Latris Fashion boss).
Lets tell you about these celebrity friends turned sisters. We are talking about Erelu Folasade Animashaun, Olori Barakat Olabisi Akamo, Yeye Asabi Saranda and Olori Oluwatoyin Sowemimo. They were the cynosure of eyes at the event. This celebrity sisters surely know which designers to choose to transform their fabric and which make-up artist to make them glow all day. Yeye Asabi settled for a bell peplum skirt and blouse, while Erelu Asabi settled for fitted blouse. Of course, Olori Barakat’s blouse was well embellished with beautiful stones and crystals just like Olori Olowode egba, Oloori Toyin Sowemimo. We call them, Team18carat gold for this burial, as their gold jewellery was top notch.
We can never forget to tell you that Ibadan socialite, Tina Ogundoyin made the event. She was in the general pink lace as aso-ebi. She wore it with white jewellery which hunged beautifully on her neck. Just like Ayotunde Lawal, the beautiful wife of Otunba Yemi Lawal, the real estate guru also dazzled.
One need not tell you that 0‘Baby, the pretty wife of Ijebu Paper merchant, Laide Fowosere is beautiful. This pretty woman is a slayer any day. She was also spotted in Ijebu-Ode for the burial. She wore her special aso-ijo which was sewed into a special flowing gown with luxury gold jewellery. Even her husband couldn’t leave her sight for once. Same with Alhaja Badru Sanda and Alhaja Sekinat, the pretty wife of K1’s best friend, Alhaji Badru Sanda and Alhaja Sekinat the best friend of Morufat Kalejaiye, was up and doing while the event lasted.
