On Sunday 16th September 2017, the family of Mrs. Alice Eno-Bolajoko Adepegba (nee George) who died last year was remembered by her family.
The celebration was done with a Thanksgiving/Memorial Service in Lagos. The event was held at Arika/Darlington Hall, Event Centre, Plot CDE Industrial Crescent, off Town Planning Way, Ilupeju Estate.
The event was a 2-in-1 celebration. It started with the memorial and thanksgiving service. The service started with the Praise and Worship, followed by the preaching, prayer, then songs by Fountain of Life Church Choir Ilupeju.
The Adepegba family thanked God for sparing everyone’s life throughout the year.
They dazzled in Royal blue outfits at the reception which was held at the centre where the memorial service was held as guests trooped in, in their numbers to celebrate with the family.
One of her daughters Kate Adepegba, the actress spoke about her mum. She said she felt, excited about celebrating Mama. I’m excited, I feel happy that we are all well and fine and that’s why we chose to do this thanksgiving to glorify God”. She also added that the family plans to erect a stained glass, one of the saints at Catholic Church Mama attended when she was alive.
“Since Mama passed on we haven’t had any cause to bury anybody or to wish that if she was alive something might not have happened. God has taken care of us” she added.
Mrs. Jaji, one of Mama’s daughters said she wished Mama didn’t die. She described how Mama sacrificed for her children.
En-route band thrilled the audience with music as all the guests danced to their music.
The family made sure that everyone was well fed with fruit and cocktail by Jerry’s Cocktail and Fruit Tree, food ranging from jollof rice, fried rice, to white rice, pounded yam, amala, chicken and chips salad etc. by Wine and Gold Catering Services.
The event was graced by celebrities such as ; Lilian Amah, Salome Eketunde, Iya Awero, Racheal Oniga who entertained the audience with her dance moves.
Mama was survived by her children:Â Kate Adepegba, Wuraola Adepegba, Jaji, Dapo Adepegba, Bosede Anupitan and Grandchildren: Fehintola Apeokahai, Isaac Adepegba, Joshua Adepegba, Bolatito Adepegba, Sola Martins Tosin Amupitan, Bankole Amupitan Latoya Jaji, Jessy Jaji, Bukola Lanier, Sade Oladele; Greatgrandchildren: Elias Lanier, Eleor Lanier, Daren Akpeokahai, David Apeokahai, Faith Apeokahai, Daughter-in-law. Bola Adepegba and son-in-laws: Hosea Lanier, Taiwo Jaji, Taiwo Oladele.
