The African Church Arch Cathedral Bethel, Lagos is one of the oldest churches in Marina Lagos. On Sunday, 4th August 2019 it marked the Children/harvest that was hosted by 3 societies in the church. These societies include Busy Bee Society, Young Ladies friendly society and Egbe Ore-Ofe.
The massive harvest took place at the church Auditorium at broad street, Lagos and it had the presence of Royal fathers, captains of industries, business mogul to mention a few. The popular broad street in Marina Lagos stood agog as dignitaries’ troupe in to facilitate with the children and youth of the church.A beautiful ambiance was created in and outside the church Auditorium. It was decorated with wine and Gold. Members of the busy bee society, Young Ladies friendly Society and Egbe Ore-Ofe dazzled in white attire with a blue headgear to match.
This year’s edition of the Juvenile harvest was themed harvest of Gods Assurance and the youth and children coordinated most of the activities. The event commenced with an entrance hymn titled we love the place, Oh God. Bro Akinbobola Odukoya, the youth leader led the congregation in to praise and worship session and shortly after, Reverend Opeyemi Alo who is one of the spiritual Fathers of the day handled opening prayer. The bible reading was taken from the book of Mark Chapter 10 verses 13-23 and shortly after, Reverend Opeyemi Alo led special prayers and the Choir led the Anthem.
The preacher of the day was Bro Akinbobola Odukoya the sermon was centered on the involvement of Youth in Church growth and development. He encouraged that the youth should actively participate in the growth of the church. He also pleaded that Adults in the church should encourage youth participation. He sighted example of youths in the scriptures who were given platforms of leaderships and did excellently well. He also admonished to youth to use their strength for the things of God when they still have it. He also mentioned that as they strive in their career, they should also invest their time, energy, money, influence in the things of God. He said the youth is the future and strength of any organization and that is why their impact towards church growth and development cannot be underestimated.He also stressed that there are a lot of distractions in the world today that can divert the attention of Youth from serving, but in all of these numerous distraction, he encouraged the youth to look up the Jesus as a mentor to model their lives after. After the sermon the children and youth were given platform for special rendition, choreography and other varieties.

The harvest ended with watchword, prayer, benediction and parting blessings from the Venerable A.T. Ologun, the Arch Cathedral Bethel Provost.
