From Northern Nigerian, Uzee Usman Adeyemi emerged as a unique actor and producer making an impact in the Nollywood industry. Usman, who is well-known for his captivating performances and natural ability to command attention, has had an incredible rise to fame since he began his acting career in 2013 with movies such as If I am President, Voiceless, Dear Affy, Anikulapo and many others.
Uzee Usman whom many assumed to be a hausa man, surprisingly hails from Kwara state but was born and raised in Kaduna.
Despite making a name for himself in Kannywood, Usman’s recent entry into mainstream Nollywood has further solidified his status as a rising star. Many were pleasantly surprised to discover his fluency in Yoruba and his mixed heritage, which he showcased in the blockbuster movie ‘Tribe of Judah,’ produced by the renowned Funke Akindele.
In the series “Aníkúlápó: Rise of the Spectre” by Kunle Afolayan, Usman who played the role of Prince Kuranga- an Ede warlord prince and Oyo kingdom foe made a lasting impression about his prowess in Yoruba and has established as a strong competitor in the field of exceptional acting.
In an interview with BellaNaija Uzee Usman spoke about his favorite thing about being a part of the project;
“My favourite thing about being on this project is being part of something great and being part of something historical.’’
Speaking about his experience while working with the director he said;
“ It’s everything. It’s every actor’s dream to work with A-listers. A filmmaker like him has paid his dues and has done it back-to-back. He knows what he’s doing, and he goes for the right projects, and any project he lays his hands on is one of the most talked-about projects in Nigeria. He’s somebody I respect a lot and look up to as a mentor, father, and elder brother. I have known him for close to 10 years now, so I was very happy when he called me on the project.
