On Friday 15th, October 2021, popular Nollywood star and Instagram sensation, Nkechi Blessing Sunday along with her siblings and friends gathered at Wempco road Ogba, in Lagos to observe the Wake Keep ceremony of their mother and grandmother, Madam Gloria Obasi Sunday.
Some weeks ago, the announcement of the death of the mother of the popular movie star shook the internet ,as fans and well wishers flooded the internet to express their sympathy.
The event started at 7:00 pm as Nkechi Blessing and her siblings, Mrs. Ruth Gabriel and Jennifer Ijeoma Sunday walked into the premises dressed in their mourning attire, a black branded T-Shirt and jeans. As they took their sit among friends and family, Ola Liberty took the stage to sing beautiful Oprah melodies.
As this went on,celebrities like Nollywood Director, Olatunji Samuel, Idris Aregbe and many others from the Nollywood scene began to troop in their numbers, Mercy Aigbe made a joyous entrance as Nkechi Blessing gladly invited her to seat next to her. As melodious songs hit the air Nkechi Blessing kept the tears flowing. After this, a few prayers was said for the soul of Late Madam Gloria Obasi Sunday. As the tears continued to flow, another popular juju artist in person of Yinka Erinle took the stage as Nnkechi Blessing, friends and family graced the dance floor. As the event went on, Nkechi Blessing again took to the stage to sing as she broke down in tears crying uncontrollably.
The death of Madam Gloria Obasi Sunday has truly left her family and friends in great grieve.
