HRH Princess Dr Moradeun Ogunlana To Talk On Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response
AWHPI Global Foundation, a non-profit organization with UN Special Consultative ECOSOC status that empowers women and girls in Africa and the diaspora through education, entrepreneurship, and leadership development, announced today that its founder and CEO, Her Royal Highness Princess Dr Moradeun Ogunlana, will be speaking at the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York on September 20, 2023.
HRH Princess Dr Moradeun Ogunlana will be leading a delegation of prominent women leaders, entrepreneurs, activists, and influencers from various sectors and backgrounds who are committed to advancing the global agenda for women’s empowerment and gender equality. The delegation will participate in various events, meetings, and dialogues during the UNGA week, as well as showcase their achievements and initiatives to the international community.
One of the highlights of the delegation’s participation will be the speech by HRH Princess Dr. Moradeun Ogunlana at the High-level meeting on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response on September 20. The meeting, convened by the President of the General Assembly under the overall theme of “Creating and maintaining political momentum and solidarity for Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response”, will bring together heads of state and government, UN officials, experts, civil society representatives, and other stakeholders to discuss the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic and the way forward to prevent and respond to future pandemics.
HRH Princess Dr Moradeun Ogunlana will speak on Panel 2, which will focus on strengthening national health systems for pandemic prevention, preparedness and response. She will share her insights and perspectives on how women’s leadership and participation can contribute to building more resilient and inclusive health systems in the face of global health crises. She will also highlight the work of the AWHPI Global Foundation in supporting women and girls in Africa and the diaspora who have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic through its programs and projects on education, entrepreneurship, health, and advocacy.
