•As GBENGA OLADIPO Weds Beau, ELIZABETH In Style
It was a moment of joy and laughter on Thursday 24 October, 2011, at Rabby Recreation Park in Abuja, as the families of Brigadier General Ladipo (Rtd) SG and that of Olabode Foster Allure, united in marriage during the wedding of their children, Gbenga Oladipo, the son of Brig. General Ladipo (rtd) SG and Mrs. Oyeyemi Ladipo, and Elizabeth Temidayo Ailure, daughter of Mr. Edward Olabode and Barrister Yetunde Foster Allure.
The ceremony which began with the traditional wedding on Thursday 24 Oct @ Rabby Recreation Park was a display of the rich cultural display of Ogbomoso and that of Lagosians, as the family ensured that every item needed for the traditional right was made available. The event later took another dimension as guests were entertained with good music by Queen Ayo Balogun and there was more than enough to eat and drink.
It was indeed a special day for Gbenga and Elizabeth and to the entire families Brig. General Ladipo and of Olabode Aileru, as they watched the couple say ‘yes I do’ to each other at the St. Mathews Church in Maitama Abuja. It was a moment of joy for everyone who witnessed the church service which began by 12noon and was officiated by The Ven. E. Oludare. There was never a dull moment as the bride and groom were full of joy and were seen smiling at each other.
Shortly after the church service, their train moved to the Reception at Rabby Recreation Park and guests were welcomed by the beautiful ushers. The hall decoration was one of it’s kind. There was enough delicacy to eat and drink, both local and continental dishes. Also, guests were entertained by the sensational Shuga Band and DJ BJ. The highpoint was when the couple drove into the reception hall in a Ferrari Posh car. Guests at the event were the First Lady of Sokoto State, Her Excellency Hajia Mairo, former Speaker House of Rep Patricia Etta, former Minister of Labour and Productivity and Supervising Minister of Interior, Dr. Emeka Wogu, former MD NNPC, Dr. Andrew Yakubu, Chairman of the occasion was Perm. Sec. office of the SGF Ambassador Olukunle Bamgbose.
Others present were Mr. Idols Awoyungbo, Captain of IBB Golf and Country Club, Justice Ishaq Bello, Chief Judge of FCT, His Royal Majesty, Oba Akinola Oyetade Akinrera, Latiiri 1 Obubosin of Ifetedo, Bello Wunti, Santutaki Baba, Zazzau Suraj, Balarabe Yakubu and his wife, Hajia Fatima, friends of the groom, parents, retired and serving generals and NNPC staffers.
