Sir Dr. Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu, the Odole-Oodua of The Source and the Baba-Oba of Iperu-Akesan-land has commiserated with the family of His Royal Highness, Oba Idowu Adeleke Basibo, the Alaperu of Iperu Akesan land who transitioned to join his ancestors on the 6th of February, 2025.
On 7th February 2025, he sent a Letter of Commiseration to the Basibo family, the Iperu-Akesan-land in Council, the Ruling Houses, the entire sons and daughters of Iperu-Akesan. He also issued a Press Release announcing the sad news with profound sorrow and heavy heart, the passing of the Alaperu.
“The news of his departure has left a deep void in the hearts of the Basibo Family, the Iperu-Akesan-land in council, the ruling houses, and the entire community of Iperu-Akesan-land.
“The news came jolting yesterday (the 6th of February 2025) of the transition to his Ancestor of His Royal Highness, Oba Idowu Adeleke Basibo-the Alaperu of Iperu-Akesan-Land.
What a stark reality of our evanescent world where we are all subject to law of mutability. More so, one has to pay condolences on someone young enough for one to father.
“It is therefore in solemnity that I commiserate with the Basibo family, the Iperu-Akesan-Land in Council, the Ruling Houses, Sons and Daughters of Iperu-Akesan-Land on the transition of our Royal Father-Hrh Oba Adeleke Idowu Basibo, who by all standards did his level best to promote the cause of Iperu-Akesan-Land and her indigenes home and across the land.
Oba Basibo was not just a monarch, he was a beacon of hope, a unifying force, and a tireless advocate for the progress and development of Iperu-Akesan-Land. His reign was marked by unwavering dedication to the welfare of his People, both at home and in the diaspora. Kabiyeesi’s, life was a testament to the virtues of Integrity, Compassion and selfless service, leaving an incredible made on the saws of time.”
“Though his passing in a stark reminder of the transient nature of our existence, we take solace in the enduring legacy he leaves behind. Oba Basibo’s leadership was characterised by Wisdom, Grace and an unyielding commitment to the advancement of his kingdom.”
While we mourn Kabiyesi’s passing, let us give thanks to God for the gift of his life, which was a testament to his strength of character, compassion, gait, and tireless service to Fatherland.
As we submit the soul of Hrh Oba Adeleke Idowu Basibo to his creator, I pray that God receives him with open arms, delivering him from all evil and granting him eternal rest in His Bosom in Jesus’ Name Amen.
