Indeed, his story is one of many firsts and a series of landmark achievements in his chosen field of entertainment and real estate.
He was recently named as City People’s Showbiz Entrepreneur of the year. Of course, he grew up in the Celestial fold, and it was where he took the interest to build up his musical interest, and Baba Ara came in handy for him to build up his verve for music.
Years after Baba Ara’s unfortunate demise, given his passion for music, Abel Egbarin set up his own record label, Obimzy Records, ten years ago, where he has been using the platform to contribute to the Nigerian music industry proficiently and empowering youths who have innate and untapped talent for the entertainment industry.
Through his Obimzy Records label, Abel has had a good working and cordial relationship with many prominent artistes like Oritsefemi, Terry G, NairaMarley, Reminisce, Zlatan, Olamide, SamllDoctor, Qdot, 9ice, and many more too numerous to mention.
In 2017, his Obimzy Records received a boost with the signing on of Ephraim Bababo, popularly known as Junior Boy, with the hit single IRAPADA, which featured famous singer, 9ice. The song, which carved an inch for Obimzy Records in the Nigerian music industry, has leveled Abel and his record label with reputable record labels in the country and even beyond the shores of Nigeria. After this monumental outbreak, Obimzy has since added to his cradle artistes like Imisiola Ladele aka Mr. Tunes and Tomoloju Eniola aka Clawd Boy, following the exit of Junior Boy from the label.
The widely-traveled Egbarin is a connoisseur of good life yet with a knack for success.
This sees him shuttling London, Canada, Turkey and America to widen and expand his business horizon – most of which have established him as a business magnate and colossus of immeasurable value.
