On 12th February, 2023, Deaconess Oluwakemi Adewumi celebrated her 50th birthday in grand style. The event started with a Thanksgiving Service at Abundant Life Gospel Church, Iju Road, Agege Lagos. The event was followed by the commissioning of a Maternity Centre called “Life Maternity Centre”. Reception followed at the White Stone Events Center, Billings Way, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos. Popular Gospel singer, Laolu Gbenjo was on the bandstand. City People’s NURUDEEN SALISU and PRINCESS ADEOLA SHITTU were there to cover the event and below are the gists.
ABOUT THE THANKSGIVING SERVICE
The Thanksgiving Service was held at Abundant Life Gospel Church, Iju Road, Agege, Lagos. Families, friends, associates and well wishers stormed the church to celebrate God’s faithfulness in the life of Deaconess Oluwakemi Adewumi. The celebrant was ushered in by her lovely husband, Otunba Sola Adewumi, the children and well-wishers. She was looking radiant in her lovely customized Aso Oke attire.
The service was led by Rev. Dr. Mrs. Janet Onaolapo the G.O of Abundant Life Gospel Church, Agege Lagos. While speaking about the celebrant, Deaconess Oluwakemi Adewumi, Pastor Rev. Dr. Janet Onaolapo revealed how supportive she has been to the church of God as a whole.
Other Ministers of God present are the President of Ekiti Baptist Conference, Revd (Dr) E A Aribasoye and wife, Pastor & Mrs. Adeniyi of Solutions Baptist Church Ikere Ekiti and others.
ABOUT THE PARTY
The birthday party took place at the White Stone Events Center, Billings Way, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos. Give it to Royal Profile Events a Lagos-based event decorator, for the magic transformation of White Stone Hall. They transformed the hall using white decor with a touch of gold and black and lovely rosy flowers, while the entrance and photo session was branded with the celebrant’s pictures, rosy flower and gold balloons. Richbeth Drinks welcomed guests with various rich wines. Did we tell you that, Tower Girls were not left out, as they welcomed guests to the venue?
ABOUT HER BIRTHDAY GIFT
While thanking God on her 50th birthday Deaconess Oluwakemi Adewumi revealed many challenges she has passed through, and how God has been faithful to her. She also used the opportunity to thank her lovely husband for supporting her althrough. She donated multi-million naira tastefully furnished and well-equipped Maternity Centre to her church.
ABOUT THE CELEBRANT
Chief (Mrs.) Deaconess Oluwakemi Bolanle Adewumi nee Awoniyi was born on 12th February to the family of Chief David Akintola Awoniyi and Deaconess Dupe Awoniyi of Ayede Ekiti of blessed memories. She is a graduate of Accounting from Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo. She has worked most of her life in the shipping and Oil/Gas sector. She started with Al-Dawood Shipping Line Ltd before she moved to Obat Oil & Gas where she worked for years before meeting her husband, Otunba Sola Adewumi. She left Oba Oil & Gas to start Equitorial Energy with her husband.
Her humanitarian service and kind gesture earned her an Award of Excellence from the Rotary Club of Akure, Ondo State in 2022, and an Award of Recognition by the Women’s Missionary Union of Ekiti State Baptist Conference in 2017 among others. She was bestowed with the chieftaincy title as the Otun Eyesorun of Ikere Ekiti by His Royal Majesty, Oba Samuel Adejimi Adu Alagbado, the Ogoga of Ikere-Ekiti. She was honoured in her hometown alongside her husband as the Erelu of Ayede Ekiti while her husband was honoured with Bashorun of Ayede Ekiti by the Attah of Ayede-Ekiti, Oba Afeleye Orisagbemi.
She is indeed a lover of Christ who devotes her time to serving the Lord. She was ordained in 2017 as Deaconess of the Abundant Life Gospel Church, Lagos and she also served as the President of the Women’s Fellowship of Abundant Life Gospel Church, Lagos for 4 years. Her passion for the gospel of Jesus Christ is worthy of emulation.
THE CELEBRANT’S CHILDREN WERE VERY SUPPORTIVE
Chief Mrs. Oluwakemi Adewumi is blessed with wonderful and supportive children. They all flew in from the base abroad to celebrate their mother and make her feel special as they gave her all the support she needed. The men all looked good in their champagne gold buba and agbada while the ladies rocked champagne gold lace. For the Thanksgiving service, all the children and daughters-in-law wore the same matching Aso Oke by Temitee’s Palace with their parents.

When you’re talking about being stylish and detailed on what to wear and how to look, give it to the celebrant, Chief Mrs. Oluwakemi Adewumi. She is a fashionista and she is proud of her fashion skills and taste. The first outfit she wore to church was a long lovely luxurious head beaded gold dress by the House of Mostictes before she changed to her customized Aso-Oke by Temitee’s Palace. She rocked HOH Iro and Bubu matched up with pink HOH 3D gele by Jummy Exclusive fabric. In her last appearance, she appeared looking elegant in a luxurious head-beaded gold dress. Her make-up was done by BM Pro, and Segun Gele tied her gele. Before we forget, the celebrant didn’t only style herself for the event, she was the one that styled both families.
