Last Friday,26th August 2022 members of the popular Lagos support group, called Sanwo Olu Ambassadors stormed the corporate office of CityPeople Magazine and Citypeople Online.
It was a sensitization visit led by popular Lagos businesswoman, Haija Tai Elemosho-Okesanjo, who is the Director General of the group.
She hinted the Publisher, Seye Kehinde on their plans and modality to ensure that Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu returns in 2023 for his second term.
Speaking at the brief meeting, Hajia Tai stated that the group has over the last few months embarked on a home-to-home visit to canvass for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to sensitise Lagosians before the campaign kicks off officially.
“Our intention is to add value for our principals and leaders, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Babajide Sanwo-Olu as we prepare for the presidential and gubernatorial elections respectively. What we are doing now is a door-to-door sensitisation, since they have not officially declared the campaign open.”
“And so we have come to see you. I know you have over 100 staff, and the vote of 100 for Asiwaju and Sanwo–Olu will go a long way.”
“We are convinced of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s ability and his outstanding performance in the last 3 years and still counting. We can see all the laudable projects he’s been doing. We love Lagos and are also concerned about the development of the state, as we all have one stake or the other to protect and it is a matter of responsibility to protect our Lagos.”
“We know that Dr Seye is one of us, and he will also join us in this laudable mission, but we just want to officially inform you and crave your support in the areas you can best fit in which is majorly in publicity” she stated.
Ambassador Otunba Hammed Gaffar, the State Coordinator also added that governor Sanwo-Olu has demonstrated how sellable he is.
“We, as Sanwo-Olu’s ambassadors have a membership base of 15,000 presently in Lagos and we are expanding on a daily basis. In a matter of days, we shall be inaugurating our local government exco members at the Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu campaign office, Oduduwa Crescent, in Ikeja GRA, Lagos state.”
“What is very striking is that we want to further amplify his successes, and that is why we are sensitizing Lagosians before the campaign proper. Our vision is for the governor to win a landslide, and for Asiwaju to also win at the federal level, and are starting with those who can join hands to deliver the state and ultimately, Nigeria. As far as we are concerned there are only two parties in Lagos; the APC and others.”
In his response, Dr. Seye Kehinde, the Publisher of CityPeople Magazine expressed his appreciation for the visit and stated that the successes and achievements of Governor Sanwo-Olu and the presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will help their ambition, because they have done so well and their achievements are visible. He added that these two sellable candidates still have so much to give if everyone can join hands to support them, and he vowed that he will support the Sanwo-Olu Ambassadors, in the best way he can to further project the vision of the movement.
