On the evening of Boxing Day, 26th December 2021, former Ogun State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru held his birthday at his beautiful Ikoyi home,in Lagos. It was a well-attended event by most big wigs in society, especially the major political players in Ogun state.Don’t forget that Otunba Ashiru himself is a big player in Ogun politics.
A handful of corporate players also attended.Don’t forget that he was a top banker before he left the corporate world to become Commissioner under Gov. Amosun.The party was a convergence point for most Ogun APC chieftains, which included Prince Dapo Abiodun,the stylish Ogun Governor.
It was also a roll call of a lot of Otunba Ashiru’s friends.It has become something of a tradition that every Boxing day, friends of Otunba Bimbo Ashiru usually gather at his residence in Lagos for his birthday, and he has been hosting the party for over 13 years. It is usually a 2-in-1 party. It is meant to celebrate his wedding anniversary to Kemi (nee Adeyinka) and Otunba Bimbo’s birthday.Before now,he used to host those lovely parties at his former Magodo residence.
This time around the party was held at his new Ikoyi mansion.It is a beautiful and magnificent house,with a compound big enough to occupy all the guests.
One table that stood out distinctly at the party was the one where all the big wigs sat. There were many politicians and corporate giants in attendance drawn from Ogun State.Former Ogun Governor,Otunba Gbenga Daniel,was there.So also Chief Toyin Okeowo, Awo’s grandson,Segun, Senator Lanre Tejuoso, Senator Gbenga Obadara, Ronke Sokefun, and His Royal Highness, Oba Dr Olukoyade Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, the Alara of Ilara Kingdom.
Ogun state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun was at the party to honour Otunba Ashiru.They are friends. They’ve come a long way.Otunba Bimbo Ashiru’s look alike brother,who is also an Otunba Awujale was there.He is a Metallurgical Engineer.
OVATION Publisher, Dele Momodu was there, with his son, and ace broadcaster Bisi Olatilo with his beautiful wife, Folashade.
As usual, the couple hosted a great party.
