In accordance with the annual custom of Ijebu people, all is set for the 2019 Annual Ojude Oba Festival, a very spectacular celebration of the Ijebu. The preparation for this years Annual Festival kicked off on 29th July, 2019 with a World press conference, which was organised by the Planning Committee and Sponsored by Globacom, at the Heritage Hall Awujale Palace, Ijebu Ode.
It was co-ordinated by members of the Festival Committee. Speaking at the 2019 Ojude Oba Festival World Press Conference, the Chairman, Ojude Oba Festival Committee, Otunba W.O. Osinusi (Otunba Fidipote of Ijebu) said the Annual Ojude Oba Festival is a classic example and manifestation of religious tolerance in Ijebuland. He talked about how the celebration of Ojude Oba started years ago and why this years festival is the gift of the Ijebu nation, to Nigeria, and the rest of the world being a unique case study of religious tolerance and harmony.
He further revealed many things they’ve put in place for the success of this years festival.
BALOGUN OF IJEBU ODE GAVE THE OPENING PRAYER
The 2019 World Press Conference started with an Opening Prayer, done by Chief Agboola Alausa, the Balogun of Ijebu Ode. Heprayed in the Islamic way and committed the programme into Gods hand.
OSISANWO INTRODUCED THE COMMITTEE MEMBERS
Mr. Opeoluwa Osisanwo is the Assistant Secretary of 2019 Ojude Oba Festival Committee. He started by comparing the event, that gave him the privilege of introducing the committee members and Brand Sponsor representatives to the high table, before he handed over the microphone to the Co-ordinator, Chief (Dr.) Fassy A.O Yusuf-Baagbimo of Ijebu, for further introduction of guests, sponsors and co-sponsors.
GLOBACOM IS MAJOR SPONSOR
It is no more news that Globacom has always been the Major sponsor of Ojude Oba Festival. That is a seed that was sown over 16 years ago by the son of the soil who is the overall boss of the grand master of Data, Globacom, Dr. Mike Adenuga, Jr. (GCON, CSG, CLH). As customary, Globacom has put in place various activities to make this year a remarkable one. Various artistes have been lined up to entertain at an International Musical show complemented by the Miss Ojude Oba Festival pageant in the night of Ojude Oba day. The Glo/Ojude Oba Partnership in 2019 is in tandem with the philosophy of Kabiyesi Awujale to continue to empower his subjects, which had led to the establishment and funding of the Ijebu Development initiative on Poverty reduction: an establishment which has been sustained amidst score of imparalleled strides, over the last 20 years. This year, a raffle draw has been added to the bouquet of goodies and 10 lucky winners will go home with brand new tricycles and television sets.

Rite Foods Limited was ably represented by Mrs. Yetunde Jack, while Mr. Tayo Adelaja the Public Affairs Manager, West/Midwest represented Nigerian Breweries Plc. Leading entertainer and showbiz guru, DJ Semite was also in attendance. He is involved in the planning of the Ojude Oba Festival.
