If there is one real estate company that has gone through the test of time, it’s RevolutionPlus Property Company. The company, which had a shaky start this year, revealed how they surmounted all allegations against the company.
In the last few months, the company, led by an amazing couple, Dr. Bamidele Onalaja, GMD and Tolulope Onalaja, the Executive Director of RevolutionPlus Property, has engaged several strategies/innovations to help the company to further regain its status in the real estate industry.
For your information, RevolutionPlus Property is a foremost real estate company in Nigeria; charged with the vision to be the number one real estate company in Sub-Saharan Africa as well as the world. The company, which started operations in 2014, has evolved to have 6 branches in Nigeria and counting with an international office in Dallas, Texas, USA.
The company is driven by its mission to bring buyers’ estate dreams, desires and expectations to reality through its total commitment to affordable housing using multi-channeled services.
RevolutionPlus Property boasts of owning over 30 estates in Nigeria and several homes for lease in the United States of America. The services of the company include the sales of sites and serviced plots with various affordable houses for sale across Nigeria, property development and real estate advisory. Integrity, trust and timely delivery are the core values of the organization.
A few weks ago, the couple spoke with City People Publisher, SEYE KEHINDE & ISAAC ABIMBADE, in their Ikeja office. Below are excerpts from the interview.
How has the year 2022 been?
The year 2022 has been good, although we encountered many challenges, but despite all we went through, we are still strong. It’s been a great year. Despite all these, we have launched 5 new estates. We have been faced with so many challenges which many people are aware of it. We thank God we prevailed because many of the things said about us weren’t true. We thank God for His mercies and for standing by us and making sure we are victorious. Our focus still remains the same: affordable housing for all Nigerians, innovation, integrity, and timely delivery.
Sometimes, criticism can be a blessing because it makes you think of how you can do better. This is the first time we are doing industry 24 hours call centre where people can call at any time. We have 3 lines for that cause.
We also introduced 48 hours land allocation!. What that means is that once you fully pay, you will be allocated within 48 hours. And if you pay just 50 percent and when you have fully paid, you get physical allocation within 30 days. No company has been able to do that.
We appeal to some of our clients who are still not totally happy, that we are sorry.

I remembered that I wanted to fly one day and I was looking for an airline that hasn’t had a crash record and my former boss said something striking to me. He said, ‘Tolu, do you know that an airline that has had issues before will do anything to make sure not to have a repeat of such?’ That it’s even a more safer airline to fly. Sometimes, when you go through something, it teaches you lessons and it mustn’t repeat itself. Like what MD said, this is the best time to experience RevolutionPlus. I was telling realtors a few weeks ago that you can’t buy land now and say you have an issue of allocation. The estates we launched this year have all been sold out. We appreciate our clients because many still believe in the brand. Once the estate is fully sold, we just close it. And that’s why we want people to come and experience the new RevolutionPlus. Like MD earlier said, we keep innovating. We urge people to watch out for us in 2023.
Talking about the real estate industry, what is the state this year?
The sector is taking shape and progressing. People must live in houses. As the Chairman of the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN), Lagos Chapter, my colleagues and I are determined like never before, to change the face of real estate and keep progressing. One of the challenges we have is inflation because the price of building materials has skyrocketed. And it’s killing business. If the inflation keeps rising, buyers should have to pay more, because the prices of houses will go up. We want prices to come down because more people will buy houses when it does.
With the inflation and unstable economy, how were you able to do a bit of affordable?
If I want to be realistic, houses like what we build are affordable luxury. The affordable housing is for the serviced plots, where we provide roads, drainages, and that’s affordable housing. But some of these estates we build are affordable luxury when you compare with other houses because ours is the cheapest. For instance, if you go to Orchid Road, we have a project there. It’s the best and it’s affordable. Like that our Ochird project: the room, sitting rooms and kitchens are all big, unlike other houses in Lekki.
Let’s talk about your innovation, land banking.
Land banking is another innovation we birthed. We realized that some people don’t want to buy land but they want to invest in trading. Some people don’t want to buy land, they want to buy and resell when it appreciates. That’s why we brought up the idea. We have some people who say, I have enough lands already, can’t I just buy this one and resell?’ So, we decided to be selling the land one square metre each and you can trade with it. So 2 , 3 square metres is not what you can build on, you just want to trade in land.
You can trade N250 within a year and get 40 percent of your 250 thousand which gives you an additional N100,-000 on it. No bank can give you that!. The idea is, instead of you putting your money in the bank, why don’t you invest in land banking? The interesting part is that you can have the land permanently. At the end of 12 months, if you don’t want your money back, we will give you the land of your choice. If you want your money back, we will give you your capital plus 40 percent interest. This is the brain child of RevolutionPlus Property.
