The Ibadan-born popular politician and socialite, Alhaji (Hon) Adesina Taofik Alabi is 60. The news of his birthday was all over Ibadan social scene last week.
Alabi clocked 60 in style on Monday, 29 April, 2024. But many people didn’t believe this amiable personality is 60 already. This is because he doesn’t look it one bit. In fact, he could be passed for a man in his 40s.
Sina Alabi has always been such a handsome and stylish man. He’s is also a man of many parts. He’s a renowned politician, a businessman, a socialite per excellence and a community leader. Alabi is also a successful farmer.
Surprisingly, however, Sina Alabi decided not to have a big party for his 60th birthday. The decision was shocking to many who expected him to throw a mega party for his 60th birthday. But rather than throwing a jamboree, Alabi organised food palliative packages for the needy.
But what actually prompted such idea on his 60th birthday, City People asked Sina Alabi.
“It’s only by the grace of Allah that I have attained the age of 60. So all I need to do is to thank God. There is no point throwing a big party when many people are hungry. I have decided to feed the needy to mark this special milestone in my life. That’s more important to me than any other thing. I just want to thank God, reflect on his life at 60 and hope for better days ahead,” he said.
To Sina Alabi, the situation in the country is not palatable for mega celebration. All he wanted to do, according to him, was to contribute his little quota to the alleviation of suffering of the people.
He believes the act would go a long way, hence his decision to distribute food palliative to the needy.
About 2000 people benefited from the palliative at the event held at Alice Place Events Centre, Opposite UCH Second Gate, Along Secretariat Road, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The turnout was so massive despite being on Monday morning. There were huge commendations for Sina Alabi for the wonderful initiative.
At the event were the Oyo APC guber candidate in the last election, Senator Teslim Folarin; President of Omo Ajorosun Club, Ibadan, Engr Sunday Gbenjo and Prof. Soji Adejumo.
Also at the event are Alhaji Wasiu Emiola; Imam Idris Olosho; Alhaji Rashidi Ayinde Merenge; Alhaji Teslim Omilabu; the Chairman of Apex Committee, Alhaji Oladeji Bello; Alhaji Ismaila Akinade Fijabi; popular OAP Peju Alabi and SDM boss, Prince Niran Adeyoju.

At 60, Sina has definitely seen it all. He’s a successful businessman, a renowned politician in Oyo State and a well respected man in the social circle. He’s also a wonderful father and adorable husband.
Sina Alabi is the Chairman/CEO of Shortollab Int’l Property Company Ltd and Shortollab Int’l Poultry Farm Ltd. He’s the Mogaji Ile Abikayin, Ita-Agba Akin, Oranyan, Ibadan.
In politics, Shina Alabi has made a great mark. He has been around for a while. He’s politically savvy. A grassroot mobilizer and apex leader from Ibadan North Local Government.
He cuts his political teeth working directly at different times with top guns in politics such as late Rasheed Ashagidigbi; Late Lamidi Adedibu (the garrison commander of Oyo politics); Lam Adesina; late former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala and recently late Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi, all of blessed memories.
Sina Alabi had at a point served as the Chairman, Trans City Transport Company Limited (TCTC).
He was also at a point in time part of the inner caucus of late Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji AdulAzeez Arisekola Alao.
He’s a former Board Member of Abuja Property Development Corporation (APDC).
He also served as Director of Mobilization of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Oyo State Tinubu/Shetima & Teslim Folarin 2023 general elections.
That, of course, explains why the birthday reception was organized in conjunction with the Renewed Hope Agenda. Renewed Hope Agenda is a group of political like minds who worked for success of President Bola Tinubu and his Vice, Kashim Shettima in the last general elections.
