The activities of the Lagos chapter of Labour Party has been rated high as a reputable International organisation, Centre for Values and Ethics Self Value Orientation (CESVO) on Wednesday 19th April, 2023, presented the party an Award of Corporate Ethics & Integrity.
Centre for Ethics and Self Value Orientation is a non-government organisation based in Lokoja, Kogi state and is bent on promoting ethical leadership, exposing corruption, ethical education and value re-orientation of global citizens.
The executive director of the organisation, Prince Salih Musa Yakubu and his team visited Labour Party Lagos state’s secretariat in GRA Ikeja to present the much-coveted awards.
While giving his speech, Yakubu spoke at length on the precarious state of the nation and why they singled out the Lagos chapter of Labour Party for honour. He said, after they did their investigation on the activities of the party and their remarkable success in Lagos at the recently held 2023 elections, they found out that the party under the chairmanship of Pastor (Mrs.) Dayo Ekong has done remarkably well, covering itself in glory. He commended them for excellently showing a high level of ethical conduct and integrity which is fast eroding the society. He however urged to keep the good work on as the country forged ahead for good leaders.
He therefore presented the award of Corporate Ethics and Integrity Award to the state chairman. He also handed over a certificate of Ethical Conduct/Leadership Compliance Pastor (Mrs.) Dayo Ekong making her qualified for the title; Integrity Icon of Nigeria (IION). In the same vein, the party’s state secretary, Chief Samuel Okpala was given a Professional Ethics Compliance Awards (PECA) certificate.
Pastor (Mrs.) Ekong during her acceptance speech thanked the Executive director of Centre for Values and Ethics Self Value Orientation for the honour bestowed on the party. She said they never saw it coming as they were only out there doing what is right towards rescuing the country from selfish politicians. She said they took the award in high esteem as it would motivate them to be more accountable and never derail in terms of their integrity.
