On Sunday 15th, popular Lagos Fashion designer, Yewande Folami Habeeb hosted the grand opening of QUBRAZ Designs & Fashion Academy at No. 12 Ade Da-Sliva Close, Off Johnson, Bode Thomas in Surulere. Although, her name is Yewande, she is also known as Adijat Kuburat. She has been in the fashion business for over 15 years but she decided to open a new store that Sunday. It was a well attended event as about 100 guests turned up to celebrate with her and buy some of her unique and classy collections. She also invited Islamic clerics who led the opening prayer. YewandeAdijat Kuburat Folami Habeeb is the CEO Qubraz designs. She is one of the Lagos celebrity designers who love to look glamorous and stunning all the time. Even when she chooses to look simple, there is always a touch of class in it. So, also is all her collections/design, they are always very classy and makes one stand out from the crowd. No wonder her styles are distinct.
This was why her new store was filled to the brim when she launched it few days ago.
The luxury store is a whole building. It is not only a place you can buy luxury outfits but it also has a fashion academy where young people learn all the rudiments of fashion designing. Sisi Abbah Folawiyo was the Special Guest of Honour. There were a lot of top women in attendance like, Alhaja Wonu Folami, the former Attorney General & Commissioner for Justice, Lagos State. Sisi Abbah conducted the cutting of the ribbon. She was also the mother of the day.
The event was fun-fulled as there were many interesting activities and varieties of food and drinks for guests and all her clients. Let us talk about the kiddies fashion show. One of the most captivating moments at the event was the children fashion show. The children were beautifuly dressed in some of her lovely collection. They were all looking radiant and beautiful in their outfits as they rocked the runway. We also cannot easily forget how the models strut down the runway in beautiful, short dresses kaftans-boubous, playsuits, some of this lovely dresses were rocked with her luxury turbans.
Did we mention that Qubraz’s outfit for the occasion was breathtaking? Both the first and second outfits were eye-catching. Many couldn’t take their eyes off her as they admired her beautiful dresses. Her first outfit was a beautiful Emerald green sequence dress while her second look was a red sequence dress which made heads turn.
Another spectacular thing that happened at the event was when her friends, families and clients came out to talk about her. They all said beautiful things about her, some said her collections are unique, some spoke about how creative and hardworking she is. We also met a client Mrs. Chinelo Chuckuemeka who has been patronising her for over 15 years. She also shared some of her beautiful experience with Qubraz in the last 15 years. The host rocked the runway with her models. She was also accompanied by her handsome husband and cute son. They rocked some of her collection.
She spoke about how happy she felt that many people came to celebrate her and shop for some of her collections. She said they would be selling lovely collection and will be training people how to sew. She also talked about what they do such as Ready to wear and made to measure but they specialise on women outfits. She also mentioned that she went into the fashion business because her late mom Alhaja Sabitiu Agbekeola Folami was a fashionista and she used to be a fabric merchant. And that was what inspired her to go into the fashion business.
At the event were the Folamis, the Pinheiros, Alhaja Muse, Alhaji Giwa, Mrs. Ohadigbo, Mr. Ashiru, Mr. Ola Akande, Mr. & Mrs. Bakare, Mrs. Benson, Mr. Adedapo and brands like Sweet Indulgence, Blossom. Her brand name QUBRAZ was coined from her name Adijat Kuburat.
