In the days of yore, the South-West photographers were literally Kings in terms of documenting of wedding events in a special way that tells a story of one’s journey in life, but right now, the Northern Photographers have gone a step higher.
The rich Northern weddings which run for a minimum of 3 days are carefully documented, while some are recorded on celluloid. The Henna, traditional Kamu, Nikkai Fathia and Dinner are beautifully shot by the Northern Photographers, who are always the choice of the Northern rich. Perhaps one thing about the celebrity photographers is that they are the only choice of the rich kids and they get most of their jobs through refferals.
Magaskiya is one of the Northern celebrity Photographers, who cover the Northern rich kids weddings. Though his name is Abdlu-Uthman Maigaskiya (Nikonian) but his brand name Magaskiya rings a bell among the rich and mighty in the North. Since he came into the limelight more than 5 years ago, he has become the choice of the the Northern rich. He is based in Abuja, but plies his trade in the whole Northern part of Nigeria. He is also the official Photographer of Emir of Kano. He it was who covered the royal wedding of Emir of Kano’s daughter, Fulani Siddikat.
Another Northern Celebrity Photographer is George Okoro. Though he is from the Eastern part of Nigeria, this New York City trained Photographer also knows his onions as far as Photography is concerned. Based at Aminu Kano way in Wuse 2 Abuja, his office is always a Mecca of sorts for celebrities who want him to cover and capture best moments of their days. Not many will forget Faisal and Zara’s wedding that shook the whole of the North for 5 days. It was covered and beautifully captured by the world famous Celebrity Photographer, George Okoro.
Not many know his real name, when talking about Atilary studio located in Abuja city. Alex is one of the strong brands that the rich Northerners patronise. He has covered more than 500 rich Northern celebrity kids’ weddings. So unique is his work that when Benin billionaire, Chief Lucky Igbinedion’s daughter, Orobosa, got married to the former Deputy Senate President Ibrahim Mantu’s son, he was the one who covered and recorded the 3 weeks wedding.
Have we told you about Eyes of Insanity Photography located in Abuja? Abdul Qudus is the brain behind the strong brand. This Kogi-born young, brilliant Photographer has been the choice of the rich for more than 3 years. Since he started his photography many years ago, his brand has become one of those associated with northern rich kids. Sometime last year, he covered Dr Musa Babayo, the former National Secretary of PDP Chairman kid’s wedding and the couple had a wonderful photography experience. He has also covered many rich kids’ wedding which are too numerous to mention.
Ahmed Abdulai is another celebrity Photographer’ who covers rich kids’ weddings in Bauchi. With many years of experience, there is no doubt that his job speaks for him. He has also been able to set the pace for other Photographers in Bauchi. With a brand name called Ahmedzol, one of the recent rich kids’ weddings he covered was that of Nabeel Ahmed Yayale, the son of a former SSG of Nigeria, Abdulai Abubakar besides that of the son of Bauchi State Governor, Surayyah Abubakar Matazu and daughter of a third term House of Reps member from Kastina, to mention a few.
Lilbature Photography is also one of the Northern celebrity studios that is the choice of the rich. This founder of one of the leading Northern On-line Magazine called Arewa Magazine and the Mirror online is always the choice of the rich, most especially the royal weddings in the North. This is because of the two on-line magazines that usually report on royal happenings in the North, most especially royal weddings.
Just as Sokoto Caliphate is the beat of Nurudeen Muhammad, the CEO of Deenee Photography located in Sokoto State, so is Stevereinz popular in Kaduna. Stevereinz is the toast among the rich elites in Kaduna who are eager to document their kids weddings. He is the official photographer of popular Kannywood star, Rahama Sadau.
Another Northern Celebrity Photographer who covers Northern rich kids’ weddings, is Sanni Maikatangga. A freelance photographer with Daily Trust, he has spread his tentacles and covering of high society weddings of the Northern rich. Last year, he covered Colonel Sanni Bello daughter’s wedding and Nikkai, which was witnessed by the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.
