Those who have been keenly following political happenings in Osun state will readily testify to the fact that the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state is far from over. Testimony to this is how the new caretaker committee, as directed by National Exco, has not been inaugurated. It has been a fierce battle between the two factions within the party; the Adagunodo and Omisore groups, over who controls the party.
As it was gathered, while the Omisore’s group is clamouring to produce chairman of the caretaker committee, the other group see things other way round. They feel Omisore’s group is a minority and can’t produce the chairman.
It will be recalled that the National Working Committee of PDP under the chairmanship of Senator Ahmed Makarfi, after the court judgement went in their favour, directed that all PDP Exco across the states be dissolved and caretaker committee be constituted, in other to restructure the party and reconcile all the aggrieved members of the party back to their fold. While other states caretaker committees have been inaugurated, Osun is one of the troubling states yet to settle for the directive to take effect.
