Mama, memories of my childhood and your motherly care are still in my mind. A good mother makes a remarkable difference in a child’s life. You had an indescribable inner strength and hospitality that made you my mirror while growing up. I was in your womb for 9 months, in your arms for three years and in your heart till death.
Indeed, you lived a fulfilled life but your demise still hurts.
Mama, you taught me how to bath, when I was a child I concentrated in washing my face and stomach alone. You taught me endurance, perseverance, tolerance and determination. You taught me not to eat my future at any point in time. You taught me to shun avarice, greed, and covetousness. Above all, you taught me that hard work was the key to success.
As you go home finally today, to meet your creator, be rest assured that the virtues you imbibed in me have remained indelible and productive. I am privileged and honoured to have been brought into the world through you. Whether I say ‘Thank you’ a million times, it is thank you. I cannot thank you enough for all that you have done for me.
May our everlasting God through our Lord Jesus Christ whom you accepted as your savior in your later years in life welcome you into His everlasting paradise.
Amen,
Mama, goodnight
