On Thursday 17th January, 2019, Rotary Club of Ikeja South inducted a new member, Abiodun Adeloye. This beautiful UK based lady volunteered to be a Rotarian because of her love for humanitarian services. Rotarians are people who pride themselves in doing good all over the world.
The club is well known globally. The Club was established by Paul P. Harris. He was the honourary Vice President of International Society for Crippled Children.
Their objectives are, the development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service, high ethical standards in business and profession, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupation and the dignifying of each Rotarians occupation, as an opportunity to serve society, the application of the ideal of Service in each Rotarian’s personal, business and community life and the advancement of international understanding, good will and peace, through a world of business and professionals united in the ideal of service.
Rotary Club has millions of members all over the world and it is well recognized in over 200 countries in the world. It is also a must that a Rotary member is employed. Rotary Club is different from other social clubs because they execute meaningful projects in the community.
Abiodun Adeloye became the 51st member of Rotary Club of Ikeja South. Despite the fact that she spends few months in Nigeria, every year,and travels back and forth to the UK, she still felt the need to support the less privileged in her community have in Nigeria and in the UK.
The induction was conducted by the Past District Governor (PDG) Bola Onabadejo who delivered a lecture on what the Rotary Club is all about.
