Ahead of the visit of the Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the PDP, Senator Ahmed Makarfi to former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta Ogun state on Tuesday, the Ogun State police command has warned that it would arrest the senator representing the Ogun East senatorial district, Buruji Kasamu if there is any breakdown of law and order.
The police warning came on the heels of information and intelligent reports that the Ogun Senator is planning to sponsor violent protests, shooting and burning to herald the visit of the PDP national leader to the state.
Kasamu, who apparently feels aggrieved that he has lost control of the PDP in Ogun State and the South West is accusing senator Makarfi of being behind his ordeal and apparent loss of power. Kasamu, it was gathered is planning to use the visit as a show of force to prove that he is still in control of Ogun State politics and also to embarrass former President Obasanjo whom he told some of his (Kasamu’s) associates will not speak good of him to Makarfi….

RE: PURPORTED PLANNED ATTACK ON SENATOR MAKARFI
The attention of the media office of the Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Buruji Kashamu has been drawn to some tissues of lies being peddled by the tamed Lion of the West, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and his group to the effect that Senator Kashamu is planning to instigate an attack on the Chairman of the National Caretaker Committee (NCC), Senator Ahmed Makarfi as he visits Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, today.
We wish to categorically state that this is another lie from the pit of hell. As a responsible organization, the Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Police could not have issued such an alert. In fact, the purported alert was not credited to any official of the Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Police. We know it came from OGD and members of his waning group.
Clearly, it is a figment of their warped and traumatized imagination. The Distinguished Senator Buruji Kashamu does not have a track record of violence. He is a man of peace who believes in fighting his battles through the instrumentality of the rule of law.
The security agencies and good people of Ogun State know those who have a history and track record of violence, thuggery and politically-motivated killings. The “ziggy master” and his cohorts are adept at plotting and executing evil agenda, and then turning around to accuse others of their sinister motive.
We wish to urge the security agencies to provide adequate security for Senator Makarfi and his entourage as they visit Ogun State, just as our leaders, elders and members are enjoined to come out to give him a rousing welcome.
