Community Social Responsibility (CSR) Having engaged in various developmental activities in Ijebuland, albeit informally in the past through the provision of educational support to indigent students, the Egbe recently formally established its philanthropic vehicle, appropriately christened Jagunmolu Fehintade Foundation through which she is contributing meaningfully to the well-being of our people and the development of Ijebuland. Our Inaugural event took place on the 30th June 2018 Jagunmolu Fehintade Foundation provided free medical care for Ijebu people at the Olabisi Onabanjo Market (Ita Osu). People defied the rains to turn up in their hundreds for the following tests and treatments: • Health checks • Eye tests and issuance of free eye glasses • Hypertension • Diabetes • Hepatitis • Malaria • Etc. The programme was again repeated at a venue close to Oba S.K. Adetona Market (Oke Aje) on July 1, 2018 and again, the tremendous turnout stretched the medical team of 11 beyond expectation.
In addition to these initiatives, the Egbe also donated bedsheets to the State Hospital, Ijebu-Ode on June 30, 2018.
Given the huge success recorded by the medical outreach program, the Egbe intends to raise the bar in communal giving through land-breaking activities in health, education and provision of critical infrastructure each year. Ideas deliberated were: • Hospital linens • Market place awareness • Gifts to Widows • Gifts to Widower • Gifts to Motherless babies • Gifts to fatherless/motherless babies • Gifts to patients in hospitals • Gifts to the disable – donate wheelchair(s), Polio, Sickle Cell, blind…etc • Sponsor a student • Build a hospital wing and name it after Jagunmolu • Borehole
In order to achieve more, we decided: • Contact NGO that can assist. • Contact Sponsors – we can advertise their names subject to approval – tee-shirts, banners…etc • Contact all friends and family who own companies as charity begins from home.
- • Contact within pharmaceutical companies who can assist with giving us promotional drugs for CSR.
- • Members to go through their phones and see whom they know in pharmaceutical and financial, key industries.
- • Members to spring clean their homes – put together old clothes, shoes, bags, school books – this could be extended to siblings, peers, extended families, work colleagues and subcontractors.
