When I think of my father, I think of the parts people know; the man of power he was, the man of faith he was, the man who found it so hard to leave his Bible. On the other hand, I also think about the side of him that many people never got to see. I think of how playful he was, how he’d always have a story while eating his dinner, and how much he wanted to show his kids he loved them, The greatness of this man was truly one to behold, not just as a junior pastor under him, but as a son who got to see him at home and at work. We love you, dad, keep some of your dinner- time for us when we meet again.

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus
As the days turn to weeks and weeks have turned to months, I am still in shock that this is it. I find myself still waking up each morning praying this was all a dream, trying to call your phone maybe you might pick up my call waiting for you to call me or send me a Bible verse or prayer for the day.
I still cant verbally tell people that you have departed from the earthly realm, yet I am comforted in knowing that you are in a better place and you are in the presence of God almighty.
I am comforted that you are at peace knowing that the good fight of faith was worth it.
My tears are not tears of sorrow but simply because I miss you.
I know you are much alive because this body is just a vessel, the real us is our spirit and yours is free. Free in the presence of God almighty.
I pray that you intercede for us with Christ Jesus. That the works of the enemy that threatens our relationship with God will not come to pass.
That our trust in God will not be shaken. .That the evil assigned against us and the church will not have root in our lives.
That although trouble may gather, that it will not stand, God almighty will continue to deliver us from them all.

A true great man. More than inspirational. A voice for the people. The man I call my father taught me how to be a man. How to pick and choose wisely, how to be in God’s presence and how to love.
What a beautiful life he lived. I love you dad.

My dearest Daddy
You are and always will be an inspiration to me. Day by day, I am not only reminded of your love but also your intelligence, grace and extreme work ethic. I remember anytime I had a question, about the Bible, Math or when I was just looking for advice in general, I would always call you and Mummy. I was and still am, in awe of the wisdom and knowledge you carried. Anyone that knew you, knew how much you loved to read the Word of God. You are a true man of God and you have taught me so much that I will never forget.
You weren’t just my father, you were my friend. I am and will be honoured to be your daughter and along with my siblings, I will make sure that I work hard to carry on your legacy. Now daddy, I have to admit, you definitely set high standards, however you were always so sure that your children could reach them. The kind of confidence you had in us, was always so uplifting and truly made me believe that I could achieve anything.
I am glad that you are now with our saviour Jesus Christ and you are now to be counted as one of those that overcame. I glorify God because of this.
You never failed to remind me of how much you loved me, so I just want to say, Daddy. Daddy I truly love you.

Dad, you were always so kind to me and understanding. You never judged me, even after an argument with any of my siblings, you never took anyone’s side, and you were a peacemaker. I loved the way you diverted tension with a story from you when you were growing up. I remember our last Bible study when you told me to write the verses down. I often would forget to write down the verses or prayer points that you told me to write because I knew that you would call again, but this time around, it felt like you were leaving me with something.
Thank you daddy for all the advice you gave me. Thank you for being on my football team when it was dad and the girls versus mum and the boys. Thank you for the Hyde Park bicycle race.
Thanks for calling me on the phone just to sing. I am very proud of you!!. Thank you for showing me how to study the Word of God and how to worship God. You lived what you preached and you never left God’s presence. You are a fine example of Holiness and Godliness. I appreciate you dad.
