Nigeria went through an unprecedented 2023 national elections in her history where all possible movable processes alongside prior inconceivable, almost forgivable political underpinnings under whatever guise were set in motion to stop Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and or to destabilize our polity and our people as we knew it. Our people suffered through so many social-economic challenges but most were incredibly patient and persevering; some lost their lives, just so we can attain the results we have today where we elected and sworn in the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR and Vice President Kashim Shettima GCON.
Some of us were called names within the pro-democracy groups, names like sell out, paid person and all other derogatory names inconsistent with our persons. Some of us remained unflinching in our resolve to give our best personal push to cry out loud that it would be the best option for our nation among the other good ones we had. I pray that the momentum that our President and team are building today, 19 days after swearing in will linger positively in the annals of history were Nigerians at all levels and Nigeria will be better for it.
There were so many ‘gods’ who came up with different hypotheses and theories. There was the god of middle-class erosion, the god of the impoverishment of our people, the god of chronic naysayers, the god of progressives, the god of religious manipulations, the god of ethnic discord, the god of ‘silence is golden’ from those who are/were our leaders; But the God of ALL, the Omnipotent and the Omnipresent, who is the final arbiter of what a god thinks it’s got, gave Nigeria another chance to pull ourselves together under this new administration. Let us find God in each other, emulate what is good and eschew what is not good. Let’s encourage each other and give each other hope of a rising Sun. let’s be our brother’s keeper.
This God of the WORLDS is not just speaking to leadership but also prompting followership to do right. Right by our neighbors, our communities and our States and Nation. We should try as much as we can to reduce our greed, from the conductor to the market woman, to the practitioner, to the administrator, to the road user, to the street hawker, to the political leader, to the political father, to the plumber and artisans, the mechanic on the street; to each fragment of our society. Government cannot do everything but we can try to come together to help ourselves in order to help our government achieve better results. It’s not a bread-and-butter solution to our multi-hydrated socio-economic issues but we have the right men leading our country who have started with the right set of policies, hence we should support them and also voice out where we believe improvements can be made after all, there are no perfect humans nor perfect situations. Let the creator of the heavens and the Earth continue to guide and direct ALL our leaders from the Executive to the Legislative and the Judiciary Arm of Government, and ALL the followers! Only God Directs!
God bless Nigerians,
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
