Though the over 30years Old Alade market may have been demolished but the new Alade market is located about 150 metres away from the old one, off Obafemi Awolowo. The New Alade market seats on 2.5 hectares of land. The market has been described as one of the most modern of all markets so far in Lagos. It has 504 lock up shops, 200 units of open stalls, 20 toilets, 350kva and 150kva generators, crèche, 3 boreholes as well as an ample car park that can take up to 350 cars at a time among others.
As expected, many celebrity women who owned shops at the popular old Alade have moved to its new location. The Alade market is repete with Society woman who are visibly seen at major shindigs.
