How do you feel being the Yeye Meso of Yewa Ilaro?
I feel good. I feel so happy that at least I will be able to impact my fashion theory into the younger ones behind me because “esho” is all about body adornments. But I want it to go beyond the outward appearances. I want to impact the inner beauty into the coming generations. I want them to know it is not all about beauty or know how to dress and combine colours, this will enable me to reach out to people and show them how to be fashionable and also have a good career.
You are one of the society women in Ogun state who will never go wrong when it comes to fashion and colours, have you ever been like this since you were a child or its something someone taught you while growing up?
No, Looking good is Godly and at the same time, it’s good business. I have developed that fashion sense since I was a teenager. I remember in my teenage years how I love to kit up and play with colors in my choice of wears. So it has always been that part of me. The more I increase in age, stature, the more my fashion taste grows.
What really inspires the way you dress?
Mood and occasion.
Can you tell us how you met your husband and when?
I met my husband at my sister’s place in Lagos in 1993, He was my uncle’s visitor Immediately I came in, he gave me that sexy look. My uncle introduced him to me and I can boldly say it was love at first sight and the rest became history.
Many women find it very difficult to keep their home especially when they are married to a public figure and socialite, how have you been able to keep ur marriage?
It has been God’s grace at work. Humility and submissiveness is the keyword.
Now let’s talk about your two best friends Oloori Barakat Akamo, and Erelu Afolashade, how did you meet?
Olori Barakat Olabisi Akamo is my sweet kokolet. She’s my twinnie of life. I met her many years ago through my husband, her husband Olu Itori, Oba Fatai Akorede and my husband have known each other since childhood. So it happens that on a particular day after my hajj trip, my husband said he wants to pay his brother who has just installed as the king of Itori a congratulatory visit, so he asked me to follow him down to Itori. On getting there, I met with Olori and the friendship kickstarted. We discovered that we have the same likes, tastes, and same fashion sense.
Erelu Folashade Abike is another bosom friend. She’s that friend with the golden heart. An angel in disguise. In the course of my friendship with Olori., I met with Erelu and the relationship between us is like that of a sister to sister. Immediately we were introduced to each other, we became so close. She is the President of our club. She has this motherly role habit.
Oloori and Erelu are my sisters from another mother. I love and appreciate them very much
Can you give us an insight into your background?
I was born in Ijebu Ode into the family of Late Chief Geoffrey Ayodele Falowo, my mother’s lineage if from the Awujale’s family. I attended Christ Church Primary School Ijebu-Ode, later to Anglican Girls Grammer School, Ijebu-Ode, before I later proceeded to the then Ogun State Polytechnic.
