Initially, the similarity in the title of the 2 albums generated some controversy.

Kwam 1’s album was released on the 14th of April while Davido’s “Timeless” album was released on the 31st of March. Reacting to this news, Davido’s fans and critics claimed the fuji musician was attempting to exploit the accolades and waves trailing his (Davido’s) new album. However, a few supporters of the fuji musician rose to his defence, as some claimed he had named the album in 2021.
City People gathered that K1’s Timeless has been in the making for almost 2 years but wasn’t released. Many of K1 posts on Instagram are pointers to the progress being made of his Timeless album. On 18th August 2022 K1 De Ultimate posted “Studio in session anticipates something new from the King.

According to an insider, the story of K1’s new album TIMELESS did not just start today and it is safe to say that no one is in competition with another. Not even in the case of King of Fuji Music K1, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshall who everyone knows is a master of the game, having spent over 50 years successfully in the craft.
