As SARAFADEEN ALLI, REMI OSENI & OLAMIDE AKALA Celebrate
Saturday, the 1st of July, 2023, was a very busy day in Ibadan’s social diary. Top dignitaries from all walks of life in the ancient city and beyond were hosted into 3 mega parties. The trio of Sarafadeen Abiodun Alli, the new APC Senator for Oyo South senatorial district; Hon. (Engr.) Aderemi Oseni, the APC lawmaker representing Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber and Olamide Alao-Akala, the lookalike daughter of late former Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala all had their parties that same day.
While Sarafadeen Alli held an inauguration party at Ibadan Recreation Club Ground, Honourable Remi Oseni on the other hand hosted family, friends and political admirers to a Thanksgiving Party at Ido area of Ibadan. Meanwhile, Olamide Akala staged an elaborate 40th birthday party at the Grand Le Chateau, Bodija, Ibadan. The 3 parties really shook Ibadan to its very foundation as any celebrity worth his or her salt in the ancient city would have attended any of the parties.
In fact, some high flying celebs had to shuttle between the 3 parties. The parties were not just ordinary parties but ones with a touch of class. They were also colourful and glamorous, and unique in their own different ways. In attendance at Hon. Remi Oseni’s parry were the likes of Chief Jolaso Timothy, Alhaji Karmorudeen Ajisafe; member Federal Character Commission (FCC) representing Oyo State, Prof. Adeniyi Olowofela; Otunba Yemi Aderibigbe; Hon. Demola Omotoso; Alhaji Dauda Akanji, and former President, Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Chief Yemi Soladoye, amongst others.
For Senator Sarafadeen Abiodun Alli’s inauguration party, it was held at Ibadan Recreation Club Ground with family, friends and his political associates were in attendance. It was a carnival-like party. The Ankara Aso-Ebi for the party was beautiful. The party was a well planned one, as adequate provisions were made for party loyalists from all the local governments under Oyo South senatorial district. They almost got the same treatment as guests at the VIP section of the party. Varieties to eat and drink were made available for all guests, and abundantly too. Both local and continental dishes were served-Chinese rice, Amala, Yam Porridge and Vegetable, Fried and Jollof rice and more were on the menu.
In attendance at Sarafadeen Alli’s party were members of Omo Ajorosun Club, Ibadan high chiefs, prominent society women, political big wigs and business tycoons. They include two former deputy governors in the state, Chief Iyiola Oladokun and Chief Moses Adeyemo as well as the APC governorship candidate in the 2023 general election, Sen. Teslim Kolawole Folarin came to the party with a powerful entourage which had the likes of Hon. Shina Alaba, Oloye Akinade Fijabi and others.
Also in attendance were Alhaji Mojeed Olaoya, Oyo South Senatorial Chairman of APC; Alhaji Abu Gbadamosi; Chief Francis Babalola; Hon. Wasiu Emiola; Dr Isiaka Kolawole; popular AOP and the anchor of ‘Adun Ife’ on Honor 103.5 FM, Peju Alabi; Prince Niran Adeyoju and Chief Omilabu Ghandi. Among some of the traditional chiefs present were High Chief Amidu Ajibade, the Ekerin Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oloye Lekan Alabi, Maye Olubadan of Ibadanland and Chief Abiola Arulogun, Bada Balogun of Ibadanland.
Others are Alhaji Ademola Alli and wife, Oyeyemi; Alhaji Abiola Alli; the President, Omo Ajorosun Club, Mr Tunji Olanipekun; Tunde Lagunju, a prominent auto dealer and Oil & Gas big boy; Tokunbo Agunloye and Chief Ademola Babalola, the State Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ). The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun was ably represented by his wife, Olori Olufunmilayo Lekan Balogun.
Also at the party to support their own, Senator Sarafadeen Alli’s lovely wife, Alhaja Tawakalt Sharafadeen Alli, the Aregbe Omo Iyalode of Ibadanland, were Honourable Tyrat Adeyemi; Otun Iyalode of Ibadanland, Oloye Adekunle; Balogun Iyalode of Ibadanland, Oloye Taiwo Soege; Oota Iyalode of Ibadanland, Oloye Yetunde Adegoke; Ajia Iyalode of Ibadanland, Oloye Ayo Alaga; Alhaja Akintayo; Alhaja Yinka Amusan; Alhaja Adeb and Alhaja Shade Aderibigbe.
Meanwhile, Olamide Akala’s 40th birthday party, as expected, was very grand. It was a 2-in-1 event. A book (The Rich Christian) written by the celebrant was also launched. The party was an all White affair. The venue was exclusively decorated. In fact, it was a beauty to behold. The splendour spoke volume of the Akala’s good eye for quality things.
The party was also a gathering of family, friends and political associates of late Otunba Alao-Akala. Akala in his lifetime was very popular and highly respected and a loveable politician. The children are creating good image for themselves too. The celebrant, Olamide is an entrepreneur. She is an Agriculturist, public speaker and an author. She is the CEO, Umera Farms. The younger brother, Hon. Olamiju Akala is the new lawmaker representing Ogbomosho North/South/ Oriire Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber. Their other siblings are doing excellently well in their respective chosen careers too.
