We regret to announce the death of our dear brother and esteemed club member, Babatunde Maroof Salaam, whose departure from this world was announced on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, after a brief illness.
The late Babatunde Maroof Salaam was a dedicated and vibrant club member of United Vanguard Club 88, Oyo, whose dedication, loyalty, and support for the activities of the club stood him out as a dependable pillar within the club. He was ever ready to serve, willing to contribute, and demonstrated the true spirit of brotherhood and unity, which defines United Vanguard Club 88, Oyo.
The late Salaam was, until his death, a diligent officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Oyo State, where he served with professionalism, courage, and integrity. His service to the nation in the fight against drug abuse and trafficking was a demonstration of his sense of responsibility and commitment to the development of Nigerian society.
The death of the late Tunde Salaam is a painful and irreparable loss to United Vanguard Club 88, the NDLEA, the Nigerian society, and the family, among others. He will be remembered for his humility, cool nature, sense of duty, and the warmth he showed to all and sundry.
While we mourn the death of the late Vanguard Tunde Salaam, we pray that Almighty Allah forgive him all his shortcomings, grant him Aljanah Firdaus, and grant us the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
