BanwOil Boss: “We Must Build For The Next Generation”
Odogogo, Ogun State, is set for a memorable day as Otunba (Dr.) Taiwo O. Olubanwo, Chairman/CEO of BanwOil Petroleum Ltd, will join prominent sons and daughters of the community for the 2026 Odogogo Day Celebration and the launch of the Ultra-Modern Town Hall on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
Otunba Dr Taiwo Olubanwo, who is serving as the Chief Launcher, is expected to use the occasion to rally the people of Odogogo around the ambitious community project, which is being positioned as more than just a building, but a symbol of unity, progress and collective ambition.
In his prepared address, Olubanwo is stressing the need for the Town Hall to become a centre for community meetings, ideas, development and decision-making.
“Today, we are not launching a building alone. We are launching a vision, confidence, unity and a new chapter in the history of Odogogo.”
The respected businessman is also calling on successful sons and daughters of Odogogo, both at home and in the diaspora, to give back to their community.
He is expected to emphasise that development should not be left to government alone, stressing that “development is a collective responsibility.”
OLUBANWO SET TO LEAD BY EXAMPLE
As Chief Launcher, Olubanwo is expected to make a personal financial commitment towards the realisation of the Ultra-Modern Town Hall, describing the gesture as a starting point and an encouragement to others to support the project.
“I am taking that step today. I invite others to join me. Let us give, let us participate and let us take ownership,” he says in his prepared speech.
He is also urging the younger generation to return home with knowledge, capital, ideas and technology acquired outside the community and use them to contribute to Odogogo’s development.
His message to the community is being summed up in three powerful words:
“BELIEVE. BUILD. BECOME.”
The September 26 celebration is expected to bring together traditional rulers, chiefs, community leaders, government representatives and prominent sons and daughters of Odogogo.
Expected to grace the occasion are Oba Bamidele Otukoya, the Oligun of Ilugun, High Chief Bolaji Ogunsanwo, Baale of Odogogo, and the Executive Chairman of Ijebu North-East Local Government, Hon. Folusho Joseph Badejo, alongside members of the Odogogo Development Council and Planning Committee.
For Olubanwo, the message going into the celebration is clear: Odogogo must not wait for others to build its future. Its people must come together and build it themselves.
