If you have watched NPFL football in the last 10 years on a new turf, chances are Monimichelle Sports Facility Construction Ltd was behind it.
Founded in August 2011 by FIFA-licensed match agent and stadium expert, Chief Ebi Ezekiel Egbe, aka Moni-Luv, the Bayelsa-based company has grown to become Nigeria’s leading indigenous sports infrastructure firm.
According to the company’s records, Monimichelle has constructed and delivered over 15 CAF/FIFA-standard stadia in Nigeria and still constructing and maintaining about 7 at a go presently.
No less than 15 stadia in Nigeria have Monimichelle brand stamped on it presently. City People investigation reveals that never in the history of stadia construction in this country has anyone or company held so tight to the numero uno position than Monimichelle. In fact, there is the argument that because he doesn’t want to deliver less, he sometimes turn down projects while asking the clients to tarry a while. He is engaged all year round.Yet it is somewhat of a story for those close to this Bayelsa-born suave businessman who grew up, in part in the famed Ajegunle in Lagos before journeying for greener pastures in UK. That was where he horned his skills as a FIFA – licenced soccer agent, representing the likes of former Super Eagles left back, Ifeanyi Udeze, at a time before finally settling into pitch construction business.
Here is a breakdown of what Monimichelle has built and what is currently ongoing as of September 2026.
A. FULL STADIUM RENOVATIONS / PITCHES
(1)Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, Ogun State
Home to Remo Stars FC. In 2025 it became the first pitch in Nigeria to receive FIFA Quality certification for a hybrid turf. Monimichelle called it “the first ever pitch to have FIFA President certification hybrid-pitch here in Ikenne”.
(2) Enyimba International Stadium, Aba, Abia State 25,000-seater stadium. Monimichelle installed the 100% natural GEO technology pitch in 2016.
(3) Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Port Harcourt, Rivers State(ongoing) Formerly Liberation Stadium. Undergoing “total renovation” after being dilapidated for 15 years. Rivers State Government awarded the renovation to Monimichelle in August 2025 and the company did not take time in mobilizing to site.
(4) Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
(5) Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi, Benue State.
N1.7 billion renovation contract signed in August 2024 for FIFA-standard pitch, floodlights, scoreboard and athletics track.
(6) Awka City Stadium, Anambra State.
Hybrid synthetic pitch installed during the Obiano administration. Egbe said the pitch had “smart drainage network” and “12 to 14 years lifespan”.
(7) Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Katsina.

Monimichelle’s core business is pitch technology. The company says it brought hybrid synthetic turf technology to Nigeria 15 years ago. Beyond the stadia above, they have worked on pitches across NPFL clubs and schools, focusing on FIFA-certified surfaces for “safety, durability, ball roll and rebound”.
As of 2026, Monimichelle CEO Ebi Egbe confirmed the company is working on the Yakubu Gowon Stadium and Sardauna Stadium projects in Zamfara.
Monimichelle specializes in building and maintaining football pitches/stadiums. The company prides itself on diligent and neat jobs and not compromising quality.
However, it has not been without disputes.In 2024 disagreement with NFF over an abandoned mini-stadium project under FIFA Forward 2.0 in Ugborodo, Delta State and Aper Aku Stadium over ¦ 1.3 billion released but the stadium allegedly remains incomplete . Monimichelle was quoted to have said: “I would not share project money with football jobbers” while promising to deliver on any projects his company undertakes.
As an indigenous firm, Monimichelle has filled a gap once dominated by foreign contractors like Julius Berger, CCECC, Sporthill, Vast, Webuild etc.
In 2024, Egbe was invited as guest speaker at the Africa Football Business Summit in Kenya for his expertise in pitch technology.His argument is that “good pitches is key to attracting sponsors” and that NPFL needs “consistent pitches with good surface”.
From Aba to Katsina, Ikenne to Port Harcourt, Monimichelle has directly touched at least 15 stadium projects in Nigeria with over 10 delivered with CAF/FIFA standard.
For many NPFL clubs, Monimichelle turfs have ended the era of playing on sand and mud. The next challenge, according to critics and even the company, is maintenance, timely funding, and ensuring projects are completed on schedule.
Besides the big headlines, Chief Egbe is a down to earth character, a fashionista who has not forgotten his humble beginnings from the creeks of Southern Ijaw in Bayelsa to Ajegunle in Lagos before embracing the klieg lights of London . Those who know one or two things about him say he is magnanimous to a fault and has done a lot in uplifting the people of Bayelsa especially those of Southern Ijaw where he hails.
